MONGOLIA - A stunning Expedition by Sea Kayak

In July we've spent awesome 3 weeks in northern Mongolia, for circumnavigating the lake Chöwsgöl Nuur by sea kayak, which should take us about two weeks of kayaking for a distance of about 300 km.
It was a wonderful time in uniquely remote wilderness, being on our own, just kayaking and camping, enjoying the vast Siberian nature.
I hope the video gives you some impressions on the country and what we were doing there, hope you like it :)

Beautiful video, Tom. It really reminded me of my kayaking experience last year on Issyk-Kul Lake (Kyrgyzstan). I'm curious, how did you get the kayaks to Murun? Cheers!

Hello Hugo! Cool, Im really glad you liked it! Though the audio has room for improvement :D A friend of mine, Yuri from Moryak Premium Seakayaking / www.moryak.ch, is not only a sea kayaker, but also has a PhD in Ethnology, he worked many winters in Mongolia for his PhD. So he has a great network there and it was always kind of his dream to kayak there. So when they decided to actually do it they bought new Rebel kayaks, paddles and PFDs and they got them delivered directly by the manufacturer to Murun (with the trans-siberian railway!). The kayaks are permanently in Mongolia, stored in a container at a friends place, ready for the next expedition. Plan is to offer this trip once a year. How was your trip in Kyrgyzstan?

Knowing there's kayaking gear already in the region, that's even better. Do you know if there's anything planned for this Summer? Kayaking Issyk-Kul Lake was a blast. They click on the video like this to see the adventure to see the sights to hear it to experience it not to see a camera and the guys face of paddling all the time. I am exiting out.
