This is amazing to see. Government institutions have historically failed Maori and continue to fail Maori. The wairua of these amazing people who have taken it upon themselves to enhance self-empowerment and community are the way forward. Society may say it's a smokescreen and that they are collectively "bad" but Aotearoa society has to understand where these whanau have come from. Walk in their shoes before you judge. Kia Kaha!

This guy is a true leader , seeing only violence and deaths of the family and friends from old past rivals and beefs , he is a visionary and sees the big picture that without change of thoughts and actions the results will always be the same , it’s nothing to look forward to getting killed or put in jail , leaving their wives and children parentless to only grow and follow the same path . Finally the leaders are wise enough and willing to move ahead I wish them every success .

@Ken Penalosa boxing/ufc, or whatever martial art. As long as it's a sporting contest between 2 people of the same size. Sometimes men need to vent. Better to do it there than against Joe public minding his own business who probably has his own struggles, and isn't to blame for whatever frustration that is going on in a gang members life. Even if you lose in the ring. If you take it the right way. You will be much harder to beat next time. Success is getting knocked down 9 times, but getting up 10 times. (Bon Jovi).
