Possibly the best thing I've seen come from these two gangs. You all spoke words of wisdom but one thing that was mentioned was the ego a very good point. I can greet the mob or Black power in the street if they are of age and they greet me back but if i do the same to a young fella patch member they tell me to shut up or wanna go. These kids have got the wrong idea and no respect for the public and they don't realize they are giving the core of the the gangs a bad name. I hope all of the gang member veterans of the Mongrel mob and Black power can sort this out in time and take care of our kids. I have respect for the Mafia for only one reason because they don't bring intimidation out on the street for the elderly to see or our little ones to get frightened.

Yup I agree with that, Maori are tribal people we have always operated as a tribal unit it’s our culture. During the 60s, 70s and 80s the government promised if we left our beautiful tribal paa and moved into the neighbourhood built for us in town we would be better off, thy divided us and we no longer had tribal leaders to guide us. Soon after we started creating our own tribes in our new concrete jungles which is anti systematic and we’re dubbed as gangs. So we started acting like gangs

We are our own worse enemies. Watch your path to kotahitanga because the power of the rich wont like the change you are all proposing. It only takes a very large amount of money to derail your plans for unity among indigenous peoples. The source of unity is within the integrity of the individuals. But the weakness is within the individuals. Work out how individuals unite to form unity and you will set the path to success. The most difficult work lays ahead of you. It is about to test your resolve, your fortitude, your power as a unified force of indigenous peoples. You will need your indigenous power and mongrel to beat the Black Mob (the rich and powerful). Their power has always been to divide and conquer. Its your power to unite and repel that will set the balance. Goodluck.

Secondly you don't see the nz army navy & air force all come together with a change in uniform yet they still fight for the same cause so why not let these two gangs keep their patches as they are its what they're comfortable so let them be This change can only be a positive thing & can do wonders for our ppl. Change has to happen from within. This is positive to change intergenerational hatred and behaviours to better all whanau involved. If the heads are trying to band together to create change than it should be supported to promote change. Not doubt or trying to question it's authenticity. It will forever be a part of society on some many different levels. So maybe the stigma that is associated with gangs needs to change with gangs and members needs to change also and see it for what it is. Family, belonging, acceptance, safety, but a support in group.
