​@@YungandRekless545(imo not trying to argue) The 3 ones was better, cause of how quite the first 2 ones and the 3rd one was, and also it worked alot better for the live action since they put the epic music before luffy actually said it, and if luffy just putted the hat on nami and walked a few miles away and then shouted it, would've felt a little too anime-ish and would've kinda come out cringe, so i definitely like the 3 ones

Nami's backstory and the "help me" moment is what made me into a hardcore One Piece fan and showed me that this story was something special. It's a significant moment in Nami's character development. Pushed over her limits, she finally accepts that she can't do this alone and finally asks for help. This is also the moment where the Straw Hats truly become a crew. Up until that moment Luffy, Zorro, Usopp and Sanji are a bunch of individuals separately seeking their own goals. But Nami's breakdown is what convinces them to put their goals aside and free Nami in order to welcome her into the crew and help her achieve her own dreams. This is what brings everyone together. It's such an incredible moment and the live action *nailed* it.

I love that dialogue where Zeff compares the Micqueot wines to the new generation. "Perfectly aged and ready to be enjoyed. Leave it too long and it'll go bad." But then Garp responds with "Or you could just serve whiskey." Which gets better with age. That was written for the Live Action and is a nice touch.

Dunno from where you took those numbers. Today it would be around 660 dolars, in December of 1998 (Arlong Park first chapter) it would be 850 dolars. Even at the lowest point of yen in the last 50 years (around 2012) it would just get to 1300 Still pretty expensive it would be very expensive just like rent

In the 4kids (notorious for its super censored dubs of anime when the company existed) they changed things to have Bellamire captured and alive, just off screen. So your thought process and guesses about Nami's backstory weren't completely off the mark in a sense. Depending on how much you like emotional scenes, imo the anime did the death scene better, and that's as much as I will say to avoid spoilers. The moment where Nami asks for help in the anime is iconic. Known as "Arlong Park Walk" if you ever want to see it. On the matter of shipping Helmeppox and Koby, you aren't alone and they are a fairly popular ship. I think the ship name is "kobymeppo", which also is a reference to some cover pages that depicted Koby and helmeppo's training as marines called "the diary of koby-meppo" in the manga series. In the anime Koby and helmeppo's stories take place off screen, I am not sure about the manga version since I never read it, but the live action had way more of their story up front. You are also the first reactor to point out the old man yaoi moment the live action created. So thank you for that. 😂

I don't think there's a big age gap between Koby and Helmeppo either, so it's a pretty good ship, Helmeppo must be around Luffy's age, so either 17 or 18 at most and Koby either 15 or 16, so quite fine for a teenager crush. I mostly talk about old man yaoi for the lols altho it's usually very well written relationships (prime example at the top of my head is Fukufuku, Bungo Stray Dogs Fukuzawa and Fukuchi) and I was surprised to see her mention it 😅 the Zeff x Garp chemistry was so unexpected but good.

They have a rivalry with seething respect, come to blows a lot but they don’t actually hate each other. They’re still as willing to die for each other as they are anyone else in the crew and are often on the same page. They even trust each other to look after everyone in their absences.
