We used to call the background papers that we thought were messed up as "KaKa" paper and then during a card challenge, we had to give ourselves permission to use them in some way. It was really amazing what other people thought of our "grunge" results when we were finished with the card challenge! Crafty Hodges who created the first atc coins made her's 2 1/2 inches, but I see that other people, such as yourself are making them all sizes.

Clever idea! I have zillions of embossing folders and it never occurred to me to use them with paint to transfer pattern and texture. It seems like such an obvious option but not for me I guess! Loved this tutorial! New subscriber here! 😃

Thanks, it came to me when I was searching my craft stash for texture and I thought...why not? I was a little concerned about the clean up, but they cleaned up as good as new.

I have never tried to do backgrounds, I was always afraid I would mess it up. Now with the help of your video I think I will try. I make a lot of fall season themed things, so I think this will work well. I have a hard time finding the backround paper I really would like. Thanks for showing that it is not that dificult . I am a new subie.

Nicely done. I’ve been using my paper dolls as well. But I always feel like I need to trim them so they don’t hang off the “coin”. But seeing yours they actually look nice a little off the circle. Enjoyed your background technique as well.
