Just seeing this now...I also love the Distress Oxides that can be used like paint (very sparingly) but what’s so great is that Ranger makes the refills so available. Some stamp ink producers don’t. It’s easy to find online retailers that sell them. And I love these coins...such a nice little thing to trade (never done that) or just makes a good remembrance kind of gift or even a special sort of “business card” to give away. If I made them for special promotion, I would make a lot, but not quite as fancy as what you’re showing...certainly not with anything very dimensional or glittery. Great idea. Thanks!

Absolutely stunning! Those trading coins are adorable. I can see tucking them in journal pockets, using them as gift tags or stringing them together and dangling them from a journal closure. Thank you again for all the time and talent you share with us. 🎨😍💕

I love these.. but also love that you showed how to use the Gelli plate ... I have struggled with the acrylic paints becoming to heavy and muddied cause they mix together.. When you mentioned that the Distressed inks don't do that I am encouraged to try the Gelli plate methods again.

These are so pretty! I am in a swap and really wasn’t sure how to decorate. I don’t have any oxides but I bet I could get the same effect with water colors or water based inks or even water based markers and spray with water. I’ve done basically the same thing with act cards but didn’t use Gesso. I can’t wait to try this. TFS.

I never thought to use the reinkers that way. I'll be trying it soon. I find myself using the distress oxides all the time. I like the colors and the way you can stamp with it or color a background. I'm also going to trying melting embossing powder in a spoon. It's a lovely effect and I have more embossing powder than I will ever need. Love how you have used the stamp. The coins are terrific. Hope to see you at the show next week.

I learned something new. Using gesso with rinkers. Can this mixture be used on rocks? ( Thinking ahead for summer kids crafts)
@thefrugalcrafter5 жыл бұрын
Yes but apply an outdoor clear sealer when you are done to protect it as it will not be as durable as normal acrylics
@beckyb40745 жыл бұрын
One more question, would a piece of plexi glass work for brayer paint projects, if you don't have a jelli plate?

Sure but a Styrofoam tray works better

What do you put in the winka Stella brush to refill it?

The first time just water as there are enough sparkles left. After that add some clear mica and water

I sometimes mix glitter with mod podge and it keeps the sparkle so Im guessing sealing with mod podge wouldn't mess with the sparkle

The water in mod podge may lift the distress oxide.
