A black woman was the only one that confronted my abusive boyfriend, 25 years ago. Friends, family, men who had no problem going to LA county jail, no problem taking on 6 cops, no problem beating each other up just to screw someone out of their money by saying they got robbed, NONE of them did shit. These stupid men watched me get my ass beat, and were too bug of pussies to do the right thing. Yet, a black woman I didn't know, on the sidewalk outside a liquor store in Long Beach, saw my boyfriend at the time, berating my ass all the way up the sidewalk. She was on the payphone, and took time out from her call, out the receiver to her chest, and tore into his fucking ass like a lioness. She said, "What the fuck is your problem? Leave her alone." Woman probably saved my life. Only a black woman was bad-ass enough to do the right thing. I love that woman. I wish I knew who she was because I would love to tell her she saved me. She injected hope into me. She made me feel worthy. Nobody else, not even my own father did anything. Black women are more bad-ass than anybody I ever knew. And I love them for it. I wish white women were raised to be like that.
