Early spring, I'm pregnant and my boyfriend and I were at a cook out. He and his friend are teasing "your going to have twins" for a couple of hours. I ended up miscarrying. Two months later, I got pregnant again. Then started having the same symptoms. Went to the doctors and the nurse didn't even get the ultrasound focused before I saw two heart beats. I said, "no he didn't!" Got home, the boyfriend asked how everything was, I answered everything plural "the BABIES are fine." "The BABIES ..." After a few rounds of this, he got mad and asked what the "h" was I doing. "You remember what you said last summer on the back porch with the neighbors? Remember what you teased about?" Nodding my head. He jaw dropped like a rock! Born 26 weeks, 4 1/2 pounds each, and today they are 19 years old.

In the novel, the rural, country doctor was telling his assistant about a villager and his wife that had five children. When they were initially married, the condom that they used came off and nine months later their first child was born. The father nick-named their their son "leaky." The next method of birth control was a diaphram. Didn't work, became loose. Nine months later "Lucy" was born. The next method? The rhythm method. Nine months later? Triplets were born and the father nick-named them "the three blind boys." The father said that they have a whole band that they called Leaky, Lucy and the three blind boys. It took awile for the country doctor to regain their confidence, but it all worked out. I will say this though. The father had a good sense of humor!

I love you Mo, I know you're a comic but the seriousness when you said you wouldn't even look at your baby if they had three eyes killed me. I carried my baby for the full 40 weeks and he was born stillborn. Every other mother walked out of that maternity ward with a baby, I walked out with some photo's, a teddy bear and a broken heart. Believe me when I say, if your baby was born with three fingers and four eyes, you would have been blessed.

exohexoh i know that pain. I was in the hospital for 3 months to prevent preterm labor with my twins girls. They both died and i was in labor for 48 hours with stillborn babies. Thats hard giving birth to babies you know are dead. They should have taken them out c section. Due to cimplicatiins and me needing a blood transfusion i didnt get to hold them. I also left the hospital with pictures and a broken heart.
