Brilliant video, extremely helpful. I can tell Joseph (who is credited with editing) took inspiration from 3blue1brown. Really beautiful display of the maths and the physics!

Really great video! one question though, do you recommend on Surgical tubing for counter balancing on your robot? From our experience it changes its force drastically over time and is much less reliable than springs.

Surgical tubing does change force over time, it has not been too big an issue for us in this application. Its also easy enough to just have a spare set of pre-made springs that you can drop in at any time. Additionally, the freedom to choose exactly the spring constant you want is a huge benefit to relaxing the overall design constraints of counterbalancing.
