Mate, get that chain replaced asap. My pals Grom chain was in the same condition and it broke and smashed his engine casing and wrecked the bike. Always keep your chain at the right tension. There's loads of how to videos on KZbin. All the best! John.... watching from Scotland. 🏴👍🏻

@@heidcam back when this happened, I was but a little squid 🦑. This was my first time. I learned to keep the tension, clean and lube the chain since then. Months later, I also replaced the chain and sprockets with a thicker set.

That's one of the things with the chain drive bikes you always got to keep that chain adjustment up but Not to tight and always oil the chain especially with you living in Minnesota riding in that kind of weather the salt on the road will ruin a chain quick if it's not cleaned and oiled enough. You also might want to keep an eye on the underside of that bike to check for rust and corrosion use anti-rust spray wherever you can especially in the winter months. I've got a 2024 Monkey and I upgraded to an o-ring chain supposedly it's a lot less maintenance but you still need to check the adjustment from time to time and keep it oiled.

@@RidingSince1980 I discovered that rust already developed under the fenders and the triple tree. If I get another one, it won’t see any snow. I’ll be washing this one a lot. Thanks for the tip.

@@conniewaite1371 I don’t remember, but it wasn’t too cold. I was able to ride comfortably without gloves on in a few scenes, so it must have been warm enough. I did have gloves in my pockets, but just forgot to put them on.
