What people fail to mention is the movie had no filler. Every scene, every piece of dialogue was either servicing a previous moment, the present, or foreshadowing a future sequence.

I got an ad for the trailer of Monkey Man awhile back watching KZbin. Normally I roll my eyes and wait for my opportunity to click the skip button, but I was pulled in right away by it. I'm so glad that happened, because I don't think I would have known about this movie otherwise (and it's already one of my favourites of the year). Hats off to Dev Patel and his team. They did a phenomenal job

Apparently the Gordy scene in Nope is a very personal one to Jordan Peele. We follow a chimpanzee on a rampage, lashing out at the studio exploiting him, ending tragically with Gordy being shot in a state of confusion. One can read Gordy as being a stand-in for Jordan himself, and how the industry has taken advantage of him and other marginalized actors over the years. With that in mind, I have a profound respect for how he's elevating fellow creators with his position in the film industry. Providing a chance for the voiceless to finally make a sound
