It's easy to say "create an original character", but you need the resources and more importantly, fame and credibility, to actually do something like that.

With the internet, the world has become smaller, and new experiences are readily accessible. During my childhood as a refugee, anything non-western was hard to come by, and my classmates considered my family weird because of our food, clothes, and house decor. Recently, at my nephew's birthday party, all his friends enjoyed everything without hesitation because we've all become more knowledgeable about our neighbors and friends. Streaming services like Netflix, Prime, and KZbin have given minorities opportunities without the constraints of the old system. Squid Game wouldn't have been as popular without the internet, Parasite might not have won Best Picture, a first for an international film, and Everything Everywhere All At Once might not have been greenlit and won multiple Academy Awards. We are in a time where little voices can be heard. Regarding woke culture, those crowds are a joke. The recent Netflix Avatar: The Last Airbender adaptation was criticized for having too much Asian representation and not enough dark-skinned people. Excuse me, the original show creators centered their story around Asian influences, just like Tolkien did with Lord of the Rings for European cultures, and that is why The Rings of Power failed to garner wide acceptance.

a bit wierd that's it's indian, but looks legit. Dev Patel is fire also. About time Hollywood starts exploring other mythologies. I always found indian folclore and mythology super interesting, but presented very..childishly ? not sure what's the right word. making it more serious and hardcore could be very interesting.
