The easiest way to fill your ecoline markers is to twist off the top and add the ink into the opening . There is an extra tip stored in there as well. 😊

I was looking for something to put all my Neocolor II. This Jackson box is interesting but it will take all the space on the table indeed. The neon colors are gorgeous!

I think unless you have a looooot of neocolors, this would be bigger than you need. Unless you split neocolors on one side and neopastels on the other. That could be fun!

@@monkeymintaka I have 55 Neocolor II and 21 Neopastels #theytriedtomakemegotorehabbutisaidnonono I buy 5 of them each time they are discounted. I had a look on Jackson's site, the box is really to big for the table ; I'll find something else.

I have the jackson’s pastel box and i really love it! Yes it takes up real estate on your desk but i solve that by using my desk to lay out the pastel box and work on a little standing easel. I think the little black case you have would be perfect for a little en-plein air kit, as it would really protect your pastels while travelling.

Ooh plein air kit is a great idea. I was wondering what I could use that case for afterwards. It is a very chunky box but my desk is on the larger size (when it’s clean) so I should be okay with it :)

Enjoyed your haul! I was contemplating that neon soft pastel set but I thought there were too many colours I wouldn’t use so I opted for the Jackson’s soft pastels in Fluorescent red and pink and then got a few more from the range. Loving the Jackson’s soft pastels!! 😍 excited to see what you do with your art supplies this year!

Hey! Such a fun haul! The neon pastels will be transparent in any brand due to the nature of the pigments. Your ecoline pens, you could take the fiber out from inside the tube and fill it by setting it into ink and letting it absorb up the ink by suction.

Lots of people love Sennelier oil pastels but not me. My small collection sits mostly unused. The effect they give is for me not worth the need to use fixative, etc. I prefer Neocolor II and soft pastels. I don’t like the greasiness of the oil pastels.

They did feel a lot greasier than my neopastels. Have you tried those? You may enjoy them better :)

I definitely want to get into using my soft pastels this year too, I've got quite a collection now (got a great geal on some second hand ones on ebay) so now I actually need to start using them! made me giggle how long it took you to realise the arrows were there - and pointing a specific way - for quite an obvious reason 😅

April, I am trying a low buy this year and tou show this video, not fair 😂 i prefer the Neopastels or Mungyo pastels to Sennelier, the only one i really enjoy is the white one but oil pastels artists say wonders about Sennelier so maybe there's something about them 🙈 i vote yes for a NEON video 🤩

Sennelier has a blender stick that is interesting to work with. I usually use oil pastels over watercolour. The Pasta markers are also water soluble. The bit of blurry was a “Monet moment”. The Green Gold is 🤩 Diane Townsend can be found at Blick in the U.S. Thanks for sharing your haul. My prediction is one month (art stuff is too addictive)

The pasta markers did look like they were blending nicely with the paint so I’m looking forward to exploring that. And I think I actually have the sennelier blending stick! I’ll have to experiment with:) One month sounds about right 😂

I definitely prefer the neopastels to the sennelier. I get that sennelier is supposed to be high quality but I find them difficult to use and underwhelming 🤷‍♀️ and they are so expensive. I have the landscape set so I’ll keep trying them. Maybe it’s just different than expected and I need to give it some time.

Yeah I’m not too impressed with them so far, but I will wait till I’ve used them a few times to make my mind up :) If you can believe it, I didn’t like neocolors the first time I tried them!

The thing with Sennelier pastels is some are opaque, some are semi and some are transparent. I don't think those fluorescent ones look very opaque which is why they disappear. I know you said you were on a no / low buy now, but I got the Mungyo Gallery artists 12 pack fluorescent oil pastels a few months ago for my birthday, they're a lot harder and opaquer and have more colours (7 are yellow / orange / red / pink shades)

I'm pretty sure neon is the bright ones, so every time you say something like 'that doesn't look fluorescent / that doesn't look neon', what you mean is it doesn't look neon, cause it's not crazy bright. They should all glow up under UV light, which makes them fluorescent I believe

They are called graphic markers though, but I think that’s just a fancy name? They only have one type to my knowledge

I found an Q&A on their Amazon account where someone asked if it was Hagen and they had replied “The Base of the Oil Pastel does not use any animal products. As with most paints, a few colors of Sennelier Oil Pastels contain Bone Black Pigment (PBk9) which is an animal product.” But maybe I should try to contact them to double check. If it turns out they aren’t I won’t be too sad as I haven’t really enjoyed them much so far 😅

Those were Paul Rubens, but I think I will have to do a comparison again as maybe I was too harsh 😂 because I think they were actually more opaque which I would prefer. Oh and I bet the white is still there!
