1st off, Gesundheit - also I've seen and heard lots of people talk poorly of Toyotas but I have to say at almost 60 I've owned several cars through the years and only one has came close to 350 thousand miles without changing the engine and that's our 07 Camry. Our trailblazer has around 150k on it and it has a lifter tap (or at least that's what I hope it is) and the 99 BMW that's been in the garage for the last two years has several reasons why it's been in the garage for so long.

Seriously, the previous W220 is super cheap right now. Imho great design, reliable engines (the base 320 V6!) and very well equipped even as a base model. This will maybe become my next MB! I know, rust is an issue thogh. Probably not in snow-free (?) Oklahoma.

Hummer H3 would be good if you can get it below 3k i believe prices have dropped to the lowest they will go on these, a clean well sorted one is getting 10k+ V8 model much higher and they are great offroad

Merc should be an easy fix. I bought Randy's E550 cabrio and the only thing you have to be careful of is cylinder bore scoring and fixing the issues with the leaking cam solenoids. They make a kit for that but the cylinder bore scoring could be and issue. Scope the cylinder and if they loko good then do 5,000 mile oil changes and keep up with maintenance and you should be fine.
