Love this song, love this band. I always listen to Mogwai when I'm nervous or when I doubt myself. I've been listening to this band nonstop for the past week to stay calm and stay ready for Basic Training this Tuesday.

I thought something similar to this as well. However, I think this video is really depicting a civilization going through major technology eras, starting with agricultural (harvesting some fruit), then they move to the city only to be pushed out to the country by the pollution it causes and finally ending in space with each citizen becoming the accumulation point for a new star. I expressed this thought on another copy of this video but the video has disappeared. Mogwai rocks

The lyrics always had me thinking it had to do with a drowning death, but the fact of notes made me think it had to be a submarine, the only way you could stay down there and still write notes.
