I visited the area today. I walked around the surface buildings. There's a ventilation shaft near the chimney that was open so I managed to get a photo down the shaft past the fan. There seems to be restoration work going on at the most south building (district 20), with electricity cables recently laid to new distribution units there. I had a walk up the tunnel from the railway line right to the wall at the top. I managed to piece together a comprehensive map of what I'd seen thanks to your website. I would have loved to visit this when the museum was open.

I used to play in these tunnels as a young lad and I've walked through the tunnel from the railway sidings to the ammo store. And no, I wasn't a vandal.

I explored the site three times, officially, in the 1980s. Shame it is now closed to the public.

I was a young lad of 14 and with the south west aircraft recovery group, we visited your site, its a memory i will allways cherish, the funny thing was, my dad took me up to meet the SWARG group, but he wouldnt go inside.he served there for 2 years underground in national service, he said he spent two years down there, and didnt fancy going back in.. i dont know what spooked him, but he wouldnt say any more on the subject..sadly he passed away in 2003 .. great historical place though :)

That voice reminds me of either hitchiker guide to the galaxy the voice of the book... or errrrm... The voice off the Protect and Survive videos.
