At 60 years of age I have a long list of Bands/Artists that have made a lasting impact upon my life. Without a doubt, Mono Inc. has risen to the top of that list. What this band has brought transcends just great music.... they truly have been life-changing, opened my eyes, mind, and heart in many ways. If I had one "complaint" its that it took me this long to find them! ;)

Oje, der Sound ist unterirdisch miserabel. War selbst im Mai in Hamburg dabei, live klingt es dann doch erheblich besser! Bleibe ein Fan von Mono! :)

Ripped off?! Not by far! Influenced by? Yeah clearly, as so many other bands and artists. But can you really not hear the difference. SoM is (since it's time period) more New Wave based, a.k.a. Post Punk, and it shows in their guitar arrangments. Mono Inc is clearly more Metal based in that aspect. When you are refering to the femal voice and piano/synth tunes...even SoM were influenced (or they ripped off as you say it) by other musicians and styles like Blues, R&B, Classical, ...
