Honestly, Crim is an example for all of Magic players to follow with how he composes himself. He definitely gets tilted like anyone else, but he does his best to face it with a smile on his face and a hearty laugh. Even if he plays the most miserable decks sometimes, he does it with the giddiness of a kid on Christmas morning that you can't help but understand and give him a pass.

he is hoping that crim gets sick of having his time wasted and concedes. that way he will get a "win," even though he lost. people used to do this to me all the time when i played standard, though never for this long. usually they'd feel you out for like 10 minutes lol, see if you're committed to staying in. it's silly but i can't bring myself to concede to these people, i feel like doing that just encourages them to keep doing it and makes the game worse for everybody. i have ended up wasting so much time just refusing to quit out. the silly part is that i really don't care that much, not enough to stay in a normal game for 40 minutes. if it was just a slow top-deck war where we kept drawing answers and the game stalled out for 40 minutes naturally, i'd probably just concede and move on. but when the opponent is actively trying to win the game by making it so frustrating that i want to quit, it's like a compulsion, i just can't give them the satisfaction, you know what i mean? so they are aware of that, they know some people will never give them the win. so they will stall for like 5-10 minutes. by that point if you haven't conceded i guess they figure you're never going to. but i imagine that means there's a significant number of people who DO concede in those situations because their time is more valuable than a win in a video game. and what exactly is the threshold for each person? for some people they might wait 10 minutes. others maybe 20. i guess it's conceivable that this guy thought crim might stick around for 40 minutes but any longer is out of the question. i doubt it though. i feel like he intended to stall it out for 20 minutes at most, but by that point he was already so salty and butthurt, and had been engaged in this epic struggle of willpower. so at that point it became a challenge, who would give in first? crim or bayard? considering he already stalled the game out for so long trying to force crim to give in, he'd look like a little bitch if he gave in first. so as far as i can tell, it's a matter of honor. bayard couldn't look himself in the mirror knowing that he lost the battle of wills HE started. so he refused to give in. in some sense, he's... a bit of a legend.

Nah. You're just weak. Good thing players like you don't last. I don't like bullshit prison stuff, especially in UW, but come on. If you've lost, you've lost. More players suffer against control decks because they keep on pushing it instead of accepting that it's lost, whatever the life totals and card counts are, and move on to other games.

Approach is absolutely a real win condition, as are deterministic infinite tokens with Castle because Crim doesn't have to block. I hate decks like Crim is playing, but when you lose, just move on. @@SyntheticReign Well said. And too many players in this game don't learn to recognize when a game is lost against control. To be fair, the game does a terrible job of making that clear: I have 6 cards in hand. I have 20 life. 45 cards left in the deck, including all my win conditions. Why am I losing? But so many players would do better to recognize when they're not going to get out of it, scoop, and get on to better games.
