Thanks for these tutorials. Third session working on soul slides today, and now I fairly confident in my technique on one side (And getting there on the other). Watching your videos before this recent session made the technique click for me today. Start the slide early, turn the heel out, and really pronate were the cues that got me there.

Thank you for posting this. Hills continue to give me big problems despite some small improvements, but if I can get a usable soul slide it could be a game changer.

Yes you can , keep training !

Consider recording it from the side or from the back as that way you will give people better view of how low you need to be. Most of people won't realize that when you say low it doesn't mean simply bending knees slightly but being low enough that you can almost feel like sitting down.
@wildrice81992 жыл бұрын
I can say from my experience I know I have to be that low (because my foot is nowhere near sliding otherwise) but physically cannot because it takes an incredible amount of leg strength. Essentially have to hold a half-way pistol squat for an extended period while skating and trying to contort your other leg all at the same time. Will take a while for the muscles to get strong enough, maybe that's what these tutorials should be saying.

this video has helped me wonders the keyword is "exagerate" the inside edge. I thought I was applying edge when I was really not. Thank You!

I have been practicing this for my downhill since I want to work on braking/control. It has been super helpful and I even got to use it in a parking garage to avoid an accident so thank you so much. I had a question about wheel height though. I went down from 110mm to 80mm and the leverage needed feels different. Is this normal? Do you recommend larger or smaller wheels for learning? What about wheel hardness? I am on hydrogen 85a. Thanks again.
@natanlakonishok2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the support , yes with big wheels you have much more leverage . It took me some time to adjust.The Hydrogens are one of the best in the market for sliding etc . Keep skating 🙏

Intéressante ton approche. Je pense que tu m'as aidé à mettre le doigt sur ce qui n'allait pas sur certains de mes slides. Il faut que je teste ça.

Thank you Natan for these tutorials. I have been recently trying this. Pushing to the side is **increasing** my speed instead of slowing down. I then realised that, during normal strides, to pick up speed we always push to the side. Then how does pushing to the side meant to work? Am I doing something wrong?

Many thanks Natan, this series is great! One thing if you could cover in your magic slide tutorial: I can soul slide fairly comfortably going downhill, but somehow I have trouble making my magic slides consistently safe and pull by back foot into position (and hence applicable) is there a good way to nail this?

@Natan Swiss Rollerschool hi, I love your tutorials, I'm trying to practise soul slides on a very rough bad asphalt, and it doesn't matter how much I bend the knee of left foot and how hard I push out the heel of the right foot, but it doesn't slide at all. Do you know another easy and safe braking method for rough asphalt at moderate/high speed? I have 4x80 seba street kings 85a wheels, just bought and done about 10km (are they used enough?). Besides that, snow plow is too tiring for my legs, even if I train them regularly with some workouts, I'm kinda discouraged...
@natanlakonishok2 жыл бұрын
Thx for the feedback, try to wear them out more . Try to gain more speed, on a wet surface it will be easier as well . You can also upload a video , and send me in private . Keep in touch 👍

4:00 He's saying don't let your shoulders move to the left or the right but in those slides, especially the first one close to the beginning of the video, both shoulders rotate. I'm confused.

You should try to eliminate their movement as much as you can , and keep looking forward 👍

When i try to do this, my sliding feet never slides, the wheels keep roling, is it possible they are the problem? I use RB pro x with rollerblade supreme wheels 80/85A
@natanlakonishok2 жыл бұрын
Supreme are great wheels for sliding , do you gain enough speed ? Do you apply enough edge ? Those are usually the two main reasons why its not sliding ...
@viciouskuba45832 жыл бұрын
@@natanlakonishok i think the speed is ok, i have almost all my weight on the other leg, im low on my knees, it must be not enough edge in this case.. You also mentioned that the wheals should be wear down a bit, im using them since about 2 weeks so maybe they are stil to grippy? Thank you very much for the reply BTW 👍👍
@viciouskuba45832 жыл бұрын
@@natanlakonishok after 2 weeks of trying i notice few things, i think my legs were too close and lack of proper dynamic.. And i would recomemd training on wet asphalt after the rain to feel this move first
