3/4 base attack is fine, its what rogues use. I like Bard for their bard-only spell: 'good hope' which stacks not only with inspire courage +2 to hit and damage, saves and skill checks as a 3rd level bard spell. The bard by itself is providing the party with +5 to hit/damage +2 saves/skills without even customizing the bard in any way. If you add arcane strike to the mix with a high level bard he is able to add even more damage inspire/good hope/arcane strike is a net total of +6 to hit/+2 skills/saves and +11 or 12 to damage (I've seen +6 from toggling on the arcane strike feat at high levels) - all this before stats. Thundercaller's thundercall ability increases by 2d8 every time it increments and also provides a stun chance in an area vs fortitude, combine this with fascinate and you have both fort and will AoE avenues of CC. You didn't talk about lingering song at all - effectively tippling the number of rounds you can use bardsong. I believe (similarly to the wild hunt's gaze ability) that a creature that resists a bard's fascinate is immune to THAT bard's fascinate, not all bard fascinate abilities. There's merit to your bard build to be sure, but I don't think you did the class much justice. Thanks for all the content and you love of the Pathfinder:Kingmaker game!!

DODGE BONUSES ALWAYS STACK and for this reason they are very rare. Usually the only readily available sources are Dodge feat and Fighting Defensively so Bards being able to give +4 Dodge Bonus to a whole party is HUGE in fights where the important thing is to not get hit.

Bards are far from useless, they are some of the best buffers/debuffers in the game. Most of their good debuffs are enchantment so pick up the spell focus feats in that, also you don't need to pump Int up that high, you have like 5 other party members they can each pick a different skill or 2 to focus on. You get Good Hope at spell lvl 3, which is basically heroism aoe but also adds damage. That thunder call ability is pretty useful too it's an aoe stun with a fortitude check with slow but still scaling damage, at just the cost of one performance. Best part is it doesn't even interrupt your inspire courage so you can easily spam it on the enemy back row to disrupt their archers and spell casters. So yea bards are great on Unfair difficulty pump your Cha instead of your Int and you're good to go man.

How about using bards for offensive enchantment spells? They have quite a selection of that. Spell focus/ greater spell focus enchantment spells + max out charisma?

bard is the best character to bring along for spamming haste at later levels (of course your dedicated spellcasters will access it first, otherwise say after level 8 the bard can be an ideal constant supplier of essential buffing spells)

Thundercall is about the stun not the damage. Can be ramped up to so many use per day with extra performances and it's 0 cast time. Litterally a spammable aoe stun. DC isn't so great but since you can use it every round and it's aoe you'll usually get a lot of value from it.

Pathfinder tabletop has a DEBUFF bard archetype called the Court Bard which is amazing with enchantment magic and performances (one of which makes enemies flat footed), the performance synergises better than the spells/performance which often don't stack. Putting that into this game Owlcat WOULD give the bard more options and allow you to pull off some two bard (one buffs one debuffs) party options. Also Archaeologist Bard is your best 'rogue'.

doesn't 20 intelligence equate to an uneven bonus skill point? like every 4 you get an extra but every 2 you get every 2 levels; if the bard's spells depend on charisma, it would be better to rely on having more charisma and / or dexterity; playing on unfair, dexterity might not matter, otherwise bring it to 12 or 14

I did a 100% run on this game and in my opinion bard is the best class to use as your main as well as one of the most OP classes in the game. The reasons are that It requires no maintenance, has a huge range. To explain because there is no AI and because a lot of the more interesting characters as well as female companions are all magic based which requires additional micromanagement going bard it will significantly help cut that down on the amount of microing you have to do in combat. As a bonus the class is OP and the reason is effects are pulled directly from the game the class has always been OP on paper but in real life it requires ton's of micromanagement and people tend loose track of the number, here the game calculates everything for you so you end up with permanent stat boosts and debuffs on everyone in every fight at nearly any range.

Am I missing something or the performance that applies shaken doesn't have a save? If that is the case, then why not just run that performance and spam dazzling display? With shatter defenses + all the utility you apply on your team, I think bard carries himself well in any party...

@@BlackBinderGames They can buff themselves. Bards can also go into dragon disciple. Linzi is not built to be great in combat, but a Bard can be almost as good as a fighter on top of buffing the whole party. I would go as far as to say, and ideal party has a Bard.

Defender DON Sure, but every buff spent on a bard vs pretty much any other martial class is wasted. They are utility

@@BlackBinderGames I think both are viable - dps-Bard or support-Bard. I would also make a support -Bard, myself. But I do think, a dps-Bard makes much sense, too. I mean, in a party with a druid, a cleric and a wizard, I would maybe prefer a dps-Bard. In a party with a fighter, a barbarian and a rogue, I would go with a support-Bard.
