I want to shake some of the hobbyists the second I click on their videos! And there is so much dangerous misinformation flooding KZbin that I’m amazed that they’re able to get away with it. There are 32 in all. You accidentally counted 27 twice because there were like 3 trying to escape at the same time. I have arachnophobia and I watch these and other videos to try to desensitize myself. I know it’s helped me too. I’m from North Carolina in the US and I saw a HUGE fishing spider on the side of our house one night (there’s a creek right beside us) and yes I screamed and ran BUT I went back outside and took pics of it to later identify it. And I was so proud of myself that I did so correctly. A year ago I would’ve never gotten that close to even take a picture. It’s eyes were shining white in the flash of the camera. Granted I have very small hands but this spider was as big as my hand is and I’m not exaggerating in the least. You know everything about spiders so I know you believe me on that one. I appreciate him going back to the creek to eat up some minnows cause I haven’t seen him since.

I know that I will never be comfortable to remove debris with my bare hands. I use my long tongs, even if they're just Brachypelma and Grammostola. I remember being a kid and having random curiosities about something and being directed to "go to the library" at which I would roll my eyes because even if I tried, I was likely not going to find the right book, much less did I want to read an entire book to find an answer! Kids today "wonder" boom 💥 instant gratification! And with amazing creators like Dave, it's not an answer, but a conversation and exploration like none other! Kudos for Dave and double kudos for being a dad who will share in your boys' interests!

@David m3 maniac I expect it's because these non native species could pose a threat if they escape. In Florida, escaped/ let loose iguanas, pythons, and quakers, have pushed some native species out of thier homes and depleted thier foods. Now our power stations are full of communities of quakers, our back yards are full of iguanas, and our waterways are full of 10 foot pythons dangling from the trees. They have upset the ecosystem of the native species, never mind that I love the squawks and bright green of the quakers, and being an iguana lover, and keeper, loved feeding the wild iggies in the back yard. I could do without the pythons. 😆 🤣 😂

My daughter did Black widow spiders in 3 cages and ended up with 8 egg sacks. You can image my reactions when they hatched. Called the zoo and they were thrilled to get them. Watching your videos shows me the soft calmer side of them. I could watch these videos for days with a roller coaster of emotions. soon hopefully I get the stones to actually try to hold one and conquer my fear. I've been taking things slow. I used to be scared of heights until I became a roofer and was up 60 floors in the air. Next fear is tarantulas. Keep doing what you're doing I hope you the best bud

@AshLilyNeko2 жыл бұрын
not many tarantulas can actually live together this way. most of them will kill/eat the other spiders when they get hungry or feel threatened. M. Balfouri are one of the few tarantula species that can be kept in a communal enclosure and they end up looking really awesome because of their heavy webbing. that's why in the new enclosure he has so many sticks and stuff - all webbing points for them. But yeah most spiders would not deal with this well haha even mating time can end up deadly for a lot of tarantula species.

Love the video Dave. I think the transfer into their new home went very well and hope you feature these again in a Video after they have webbed up. Take care you and your family .
