There are some useful new features on the 200 compared with the 400. The power source is a game changer. And the phono/line button on the top is great!

Great review Matt. Enjoyed listening to that. As a Urel 1620 LE owner for over 15 years now, I’m definitely more comfortable and have a preference for a rotary mixer. 👌🏽

Cheers Jay 👍 I was very happy with my UREI; moving from the Vestax to the 1620 was a game changer. That additional headroom made a gain control obsolete. The main reason I made the jump to the DJR400 at the time was the difference in weight and the ease with which I could carry to a party and plug straight in with out the need for a rack. Too many hours fooling around in dark clubs with dusty cables 😊

@@MONOGAMYAUDIO yeah! I’m very tempted by a DJR 200 for that reason! It would have to be in addition to the Urel though.

It make travel a delight! I remember the massive coffin I had built for my UREI to house the mixer, E&S X 3004 & a VU meter. It was so big and heavy. I ended up selling it to a one armed Italian in a tube station. Very unusual.

Hey there, I am looking for a dust cover for the DJR200 but I can’t find one on the web, I was hoping Decksaver would have one but they don’t unfortunately. Do you have any recommandations ? Thanks !

Hi! I’ve listened the djr400, but the djr 200 not. Have both the same sound quality? And what about conexion xlr to jack with the adapter? Could it be possible that it influences the sound quality? Thanks for the great review.

Great video Matt...I've never had a go with a rotary

Thanks for watching; delighted to hear you enjoyed it 👍 If you are looking for a smooth blend or to insert superior hifi components into your signal chain, rotary is definitely the way to go. That being said, as with all things, there is a range on the market. E&S are quality units. I look forward to sharing further reviews in due course 👍 Please be sure to subscribe to this channel to ensure you don’t miss out. Cheers, Matt.

do you enjoy it more than your iso420?

Thanks Darren- all covers from 06:22 in the video 👍 Purchase price sits around the €1,200 mark with an additional €70 for wooden sides. Whilst that may add a few centimetres to the width, it provides additional protection and I feel the wood is sympathetic to the nature of the unit. On top of that you will need to factor in VAT, postage, any customs charge or import tax. Each unit is hand made so waiting times vary. As with all of these bespoke mixers, they are crafted by one person with love, and that comes at a cost, and with an element of trust and patience.

Don't believe the hype about not needing eqs....! Believe me, you need them.... I have a mastersounds 4v and I think having a crossfader on it makes it the ultimate rotary mixer .. These kill any other rotary on the market.... These only have one output level light meter as well and don't show you what each channel is doing... This bloke is reading from a script and reading from the companies literature....don't try and B/S us...I'm not hating, I'm merely saying....

Thanks for your post 👍 I’m not sure I say you don’t need eq’s, I especially as the 200 has shelving eq’s? As with most of these rotary mixers there is plenty of head room so a smooth blend is achievable without the necessity for much frequency adjustment. Sure, the MS 4V is a great mixer and taste is subjective. Isn’t it great that we have so many choices just now? In fact, this is why I have two mixers- the DJR200 & the ISO420; both very different units. For me, the 420 is the “ultimate rotary mixer”, but of course that is just my opinion.

@@MONOGAMYAUDIO Hi...I'm glad you didn't get offended by my heckling and Micky taking lol... I've used input fader mixers for 23 years and I only got the rotary M/S 4v rotary coz I had to wait another 8 weeks on top of waiting for 4 weeks already for the input fader version...I don't regret it as it's a challenge to change ya style after decades of mixing.... As regards to eqing...I'm on about the mainly older music like 80's hip hop, hip house, old skool rave from 88-92 and albums to eq to newer better produced music or old tunes that producers were bothered to do decent recordings to....when you have ATC speakers and a audio research pre amp and mark Levinson amp, aka hi-end equipment that shows up the quality of recordings, you really need to eq stuff big time....but also, eqs are good for manipulation in the mix. I had Ecler Evo 5 Ecler nuo 5 and 4 Vestax PMC 50a , PMC 05 Mackie D2 Technics DMC mixer shd1200 I think? A&H 96 and 01 Stanton smx501 Urie 1601 Apart from the obvious couple of mixers that weren't high grade sound, the 4v with upgraded PSU is a league above and anything after that really is diminishing returns.....I was surprised in how bad it made the A&H 96 and Ecler Evo 5 sound....the Vestax 50a wasnt as shamed as much though... In my opinion I can't see the point of having 2 mixers like you have ya tart lol...

The only thing that is missing is a really good "driver" or media player! Not the plastic garbage that people normally use!
