My first mixer was an Ecler Smac Pro 40. Took an absolute pounding and kept going. Once, I spilt an entire stubbie all over it, the beer ran into the faders and into the mixer. I stood back, expecting it to spark and fry. To my astonishment, it kept going and I still managed to dj all night on it. Impossible to kill. I've also got an 8 channel Ecler Mac 90v that sounds pretty bloody good too. I was keen to buy this but decided to get the Mastersounds Radius 4 a month ago. Looks like a great little mixer though, specs look great and most likely indestructible like my old mixer.

Cheers from Toronto. I've had the Nuo 3 for about 15 years and its still going strong. A really well built, no-frills mixer. I used to take it out for gigs often but now it lives at home as I use a controller more when I'm playing out. I'm thinking about upgrading and this new Nuo is intriguing. I'm also liking the looks of the Omnitronic stuff. Thanks for these great videos.

Owned a Smac Pro 30, bought it in 2001 and had it for ten years. Best mixer I ever had, running techno, dnb jungle,reggae,dub,breaks, the lot through it and it operated and sounded perfect. The lay out was ergonomic, easy to use, the direct kill switches never let me down. Loved the the thing, bought a nuo 2 and it's ok, kill buttons crap,but I do miss the greatest mixer I ever bought. If Ecler brought back the smac pro 30 and it was the same I'd buy one immediately. Two. We want the Smac...

I had the Nuo 2.0 initially because of the small footprint, but soon found it was a delight to use and just sounded great. Eventually l sold it on to get a Serato enabled mixer (Reloop RMX 90), but I ditched DVS to go back to regular vinyl a year or so ago. I've wanted to try a rotary for a while now and having just watched this I could be tempted to go full circle and come back to Ecler!

Ah yes ECLER, the Rane of Spain. I owned many ECLER DJ mixers over my years. The SCLAT4 (still own), MAC90v, NUO4 (still own), EVO5. At one time even a SCLAT200VS that had a special MOD which the headphone cue PFL and SPLIT could be routed to the booth output section so we could do headphone-less mixing in an enclosed DJ booth with just the monitors, back when DJ mixers were analogue it was easy to do. Now that's a feature I wish was on modern DJ mixers. I never once had problems with any ECLER mixer, and they were super easy to service as well, even in the field.

I've been using an Ecler Hak 380 for over 10 years, and I love it. I've been keen to try a rotary mixer, wasn't aware this existed. Going to purchasing purely off the back of this video. Great breakdown, long live Ecler. PS: I've been disappointed in the lack of outputs in the 2 channel Pioneer mixers. As I use mine for streaming mixing and sampling into hardware samplers. I'm glad to see Ecler still pack in plenty of outputs for the size.

I have the Nuo 2.0 since about 2013 and I'm really happy with it. It even survived a pigeon attack - one fader got crapped on, but after cleaning carried on for few more years. Eventually a pcb inside (that I could not get into and clean) got eaten by the remnants of the attack and one of the channels packed up. Got it kinda fixed, but it started to hum again lately and the WARM2 is what I'm going to go for next. The quality, form factor and the price is hardly beaten with these.

I've owned the Ecler Nuo 4 for six years now, having bought it second-hand, and it still works perfectly. I absolutely love it! It's built like a tank, with a stripped-down design and functions: no filters, no LFO, no effects-just faders, EQs, and Send/Return. While its sound could be a bit punchier compared to the Allen & Heath Xone models, it still delivers a very nice, warm, and smooth sound. The only thing I wish to change about the Nuo 4 is the limited range of the EQs in the lows; they cut around 90Hz but don't completely eliminate it, allowing the kick to sound through slightly. However, overall, I really adore the NUO 4. It's a great-sounding, solidly built, and affordable mixer

Ecler have never been underrated or a secret....its the fact that people don't do their research and do the pioneer sheep thing because their marketing is second to none. I've been an ecler fan for 10 years and had the Nuo 4 Nuo 4.0 Nuo 5 And 2 Evo 5's I've recently sold the evo 5 and got an A&H 96...it was rubbish! All 4 channels had different stereo and channel output volumes! I returned it and got a mastersounds 4v and uprated psu.... The point I'm making is that eclers no matter what price you buy one at for example the nuo 2.0 will sound as good as a mixer upto £1800...fact! Except the mastersounds 2 channel mixer priced 200 more than the ecler....that is the only mixer on the market it doesn't compete with.... The evo 5 and A&H 96 mixers sounds amazing, but the Mastersounds 4v makes them sound cheap.... One other bad point about the eclers is the trim levels are anything but linear! To date the worst on any mixers I've owned or used....but you do get use to it ....
@leeyounger25182 жыл бұрын
@@djdeejdjay8669 I have to disagree about sound quality of the Nuo 2. I have just done a sound check with HIFI carts ortofon blue and also Dj cart Shure M44-7 and my Allen and Heath xone 42 sounds far superior to the Ecler. The Ecler sounded muddy in all frequency ranges compared to the A&H. The sound stage became a lot narrower and the detail of things like guitar and wind instruments lost a lot of detail and clarity especially in the mid to high end. It does not sound better than A&H unless you want a rounder warmer low end, but that comes at the expense of clarity
@Dee.J.Mogfry2 жыл бұрын
@@leeyounger2518 I'm guessing you ran it flat....that isn't really the way to test mixer. Eq the mixer and then compare. Hardly any mixers sound good flat....even my Matersounds 4v with uprated psu needs a bit of treble and some times a pinch of mid...but the bass doesn't need to be touched. I'm running 5 grands worth of speakers with a 7 grand amp and £2500 of valve pre amp etc.... I've had numerous eclers, 2 a&h 96 and 02, technics,Stanton, 2 vestax, a 50a and pmc 05, urie 1605....to say the least I know what I'm on about and the 42 is good but not thst good.

In 2005 or so I bought the Nuo 3 and immediately fell in love with it. Beautiful design, great sound, a very powerful eq, exceptionally good faders out of the box,… the only thing I wished for was an insert loop, but other than that, a stunning piece of hardware - and a pleasure to touch (unlike the x.0 series with their brushed aluminium faceplates). After it broke due to non-mixer related issues, I upgraded to a rane empath, and am now using either that one, or a second hand (silver) xone 32, but I never really got over my nuo 3… and already thought about buying a used one just for old times sake lol

All in all, top sound with top build quality... And it all comes from Europe, which i think is awesome!

used many of their boxes and even visited them in bcn back in the day. have a nuo 3.0 since 2009 still in rotation, so much to say but, to be brief, major strengths: the full kill EQ, these are iso-eq hybrids with a wide mid, musical and unique, you can mix just with these and not miss filters (also, boosting highs to 'enhance' older cuts sounds best on eclers out of any mixer i heard). the phono preamps are gorgeous, imho, better than the mass-produced competition. third, the layout, specifically the 3.0 i find exemplary (plus, 3 channels! please, more 3 channel mixers). fourth, the always important gain staging implementation is perfect. lastly, they sound great, less coloured than a&h, different signature, less forward - down to one's taste. oh well, i love ecler, so glad to see the dj division alive again

about 15 years ago I was resident DJ in a club who had the NUO5.0 in the booth, and I really enjoyed playing vinyl with that. Soon they switched to the A&H Xone92 and to be honest I missed the Ecler due to the sound and knobs. Even now I have at home a NUO3 and, except for the isolators and the fader curve (3rd channel is simply sharp without possibility of fader adjsutment), I do not miss anything. Thsi warm2 is the only replacement I am think to take seriously.

Brilliant! Owned two back in the day: Smac 30 and the big chungus Nuo 5. Superb pieces of kit with excellent sq. I'd really like to see them produce something to dethrone the DJM-900nxs(2).
@dj-peterofficial27532 жыл бұрын
Not gonna happen. To dethrone something you need to compete with something better in every part and work flow. Rotarys out of the picture. No build-in effects, out of the pictures, and if you have they need to be better but not different and the work flow need to be the same. The DJM-2000 series was a better mixer in every aspect and the V-10 absolutely is, but the NXS2 has the most sweet spots for most of the DJs today. I'm just there myself. Just sold my excellent DJM-2000 because it's been shelved for most of the last 2 years which is just a shame. I've had my 900NXS2 since 2016 and it IS a beast of a mixer. Still looks and feels just like new and on large high Q sound systems (Read D&B and Nexo) the sound is just pure and mighty. The only mixer I would want instead, or to choose between is the V10, but more so if there were a 4 ch version but otherwise with the same specs. Price and value of Pioneer gear is unmatched. If I weren't in need of my DJ gear I would sell it in an instant and get every penny I paid for it +6 years ago back, and maybe then some. The only reason to go with another brand seems to be if you prefer analogue harmonic distortion added to the sound, and then there are several brands and models to choose from, but none that has ever even come close to dethrone Pioneers flagship modells. Their owners are plenty happy thow, and that is what matters most in my opinion.

@admiralhipowa71582 жыл бұрын
I had a 4 channel Nuo 4.0, I have to admit I bought it second hand & it was in mint condition. Sound quality was excellent until it developed a fault with the right output, it distorted so bad & eventually cut out completely. I took it to my local DJ retailer who have been in business for as long as I can remember as I’m 52, they found a number of faulty solder joints that they repaired but it happened again, they tried a second repair but still the same fault. Eventually I sold it & got the Pioneer DJM 2000. The Ecler mixer was built like a tank but I lost confidence with it, the first issue I had was it kept blowing fuses, that was repaired with no issues. This new mixer looks like they’ve dusted off some of their old components, the monitor & fx switches are the same as their old mixers & so are the level meters.

I'm an American weirdo who rocked an Ecler Nuo 3.0 as my gig mixer for a long while so my beloved Rane Empath would never leave the studio. Now my studio mixer is a Rane 70 and my local vinyl only venue just copped a Warm2 so of course I had to check in with Mojaxx for the good word. I can't wait until my next booking to play on it. Even more excited that one day Mojaxx will drop a head to head rotary shoot-out some day. This review is particularly helpful for placing the Warm2 in the proper pricing context relative to the rest of the rotary market.

I'm in the US and knew two DJs that had Eclers. Both mixers sounded awesome. But one of them had a red 4 channel with built in fx. Unfortunately, the thing would glitch out and shut off every once in a while. He was originally an old school midwest rave DJ, so maybe he beat the hell out of it. But it looked pretty clean. Lately I've been watching Victoria Rawlins on Twitch, she's got an Ecler Evo 4.0 and it sounds great over stream through my monitors and sub. I wonder if she'd be into picking up this mixer.

Great review as usual. I have the Evo 5 and have never wanted to consider anything else because of how versatile and superb sounding it is. It is supremely capable and works with anything I throw at it. The elephant in the room is how quickly support for it ended :-( The drivers never progressed and now that one of the channels has started to play up, repair options seem limited to non existent. So in summary, no problems with the product but I'd want to invest in something with some longevity to it (in terms of support). The lack of support I experienced makes me hesitant about considering anything else they release.

Wasn't able to get an eternal fader to test it out with but the Inno Pro 2 is doing the job quite nicely for cutting, the eq's are fantastic for mixing, and the slim profile is perfect for rocking doubles/juggling. I think that is not a common case, but I bought one and unfortunately one side of the casing was bent (the metal was) causing the wood to be bent as well. Pots were a bit wobbly as well, but the casing was a deal breaker unfortunately. Thomann deamed them as "acceptable" traits for this mixer, so basically I had to return it. A friend got one from preorder and it is in flawless shape, so maybe latter series lacked some quality control. I wanted to get a second one, but frankly I am a bit hesitant about it after that :/ EDIT: Doing a test mix on it was really nice, isolators were handy to sculpt the sound. Lack of latch on isolator neutral position can be a problem to some probably.

I really want to see a 4 channel (or three phono input) mixer in this series. Would be perfection. I own a smac4 mixer and I've owned a mac70i and a mac70v club mixer. But... At the sound system I had with the company I've worked for as a dj and lightning technician I preferred the sound of the rodecs. More punchy and bit more agressive. In smaller venues I preferred the eclers sound over the rodecs.

I've used a number of Ecler mixers over the years but never a Rodec... Hopefully that will change when they drop their mixer with modular FX next year. Very excited for that!

@@Mojaxx looking forward for that mixer thow! Rodec has a very unique sound signature. On smaller systems you don't hear it so much but on the big club or rental sound systems they sound the part. Got to love that sound thow. It's not for everyone

Now that is what I call a WARM surprise! Nice job Ecler, albeit its a bit too simplistic for my like. At least channel filters would have been nice. And plastic knobs on a Ecler... nah.

I fully agree. Without external EFX its a pretty boring device.

Thanks for the great review, but I do have to say as a sound system designer, if I was creating a clean signal chain for a high end system, I would insist that only analog effects boxes / pedals be used on the send/return to avoid the downright awful A/D D/A converters in Pioneer effect boxes. Once the signal is trashed, it will remain trash. It will especially be noticeable the better the system you playing through happens to be.

Good review as always. For anyone further interested in the audio quality, I did a thorough A/B vinyl test against the Xone 96, which you can see/listen to on my channel.

I would have bought this instead of the Rane MP2015 I got. I have owned many mixers, but the past decades a HAK 320 and a HAK 360 (still have the latter) and they're just hard to beat. Knowing that Ecler was stepping into rotary territory..

it's a good price for a rotary. Most likely something I would put in my living room with my hi-fi system.

I had a Smac 20 and last month I replaced my HAK 360 after more than 15 years

I have the ECLER NUO2 - No issues Iove it. I use it because my Vestax of the similar width didnt have balance outs. its the main stay in my office but now Djing a bit more i have been on my Denon X1850. I so wish i could put a Magvel fader in it, FYI Pioneers and Rane rule the faders mixers. i want this rotary for surre. I mixed on my friends rack mount Bozak and want that experience again - its a mixers mix console not a guy that just drops in and cuts without mixing IMO.

Got a few questions. When cueing up can you also hear the other deck playing while playing through headphones .And can they be turned on and off like cue buttons

I connected a hand-sized synth (monotron delay) to the mic input of my ecler warm2 for a few minutes and then noticed that the right input was a line input... and it worked fine. Could I have already damaged my mic input or preamp during the few minutes I used the synth in there?

Thanks for the great video! Do you know if I can power passive speakers with this mixer?
