The Russian-made Stechkin pistol has a monolithic silence. Fast and effective baffles for a silencer may be created from a relative stiff 1 ½ wide flat strip of spring steel. 1. The strip of spring steal is folded back and forth to create an accordion. 2. On a grinder, the compresses metal accordion is perfectly rounded along two edges. 3. On a drill, once the two edges are rounded, a hole larger than the caliber to be used is drilled in the middle of the compressed accordion. 4. The accordion is now pulled and inserted in an aluminum tube. It must fit smugly. The tube has a cap with an exit hole in one end and a barrel attachment at the other end. 5. When a bullet is fired through the center the accordion acts as baffles. The gas is delayed and compresses the coil taking up further energy. The corrugated steel accordion behaves as a spring inside the tube. May years ago, the French designed a silencer with a spring baffle.

Great video! I own all three and love them all. While my sparrow gets the most use shooting full auto 22lr. The Element 2 sees the least amount of use because of cleaning purposes. But that being said I feel the Elements K baffles sound the best of these 3 suppressors, followed by the Spectre 2 and last the Sparrow. It's almost like the Spectre 2 is a blend of both technologies and best of both worlds.

Thank you, I feel the same way. The Element sounds great, but is just a pain to clean. The Spectre 2 really shined on handguns, it was the only suppressor that had next to no first round pop and a great overall dB reduction.

+Capitol Armory . How about the Mask HD ? Compare to Spectra II...
@Capitolarmory
@Capitolarmory 9 жыл бұрын
The Mask HD out preforms the Spectre II, and is a bit shorter. The Spectre II was my old favorite 22 can until the Mask came out.

I am new to the suppressor game. Purchased one about 8 months ago and still waiting to be cleared. I am looking to get some new cans eventually for other calibers (.22 and .223). I understand the pros/ cons of different cans, but being new, I don't know where to put my priorities when purchasing a suppressor. I would assume that the average person purchasing their first suppressor would have different views of what is most important compared to someone with more experience. But from your experience, if you were to only purchase one suppressor per caliber, which design would you go with?

What about the Sig 762/Q style of baffles. Are these superior to baffles that are in new cans like the dead air nomad or the new rugged 7.62? Or is new tech like the new OSS best?

What way should the baffles face when on the barrel?
@Capitolarmory
@Capitolarmory 4 жыл бұрын
All suppressors could be different, but generally if you point the host up in the air, the baffles should be little ice cream cones. Small end pointed towards host, big end toward target.

Hello, What would you recommend is the best .22lr silencer Priority goes like this (Quiet > Looks > Cleaning >) also is the AAC Element 2 so much quieter than the Spectre II that its worth the cleaning? (will be using it on a pistol) or could you tell me the diffrence in sound maybe in % how much quieter it is? And could you suggest me the best .22LR Pistol? priority goes like this (Accurate > Powerful > Looks > Quite) overall i want something Really powerful accurate silent and beatiful (Money is not an issue)
@Capitolarmory
@Capitolarmory 8 жыл бұрын
Based on those criteria, I would probably say the Dead Air Mask or Spectre 2. Both are fantastic, sound great, and are easy to clean. As far as a .22LR pistol, my first choice is the Ruger 22/45
