Nice work as always Josh. I love building science and high performance builds. Do yall ever use AeroBarrier / AeroSeal? I would love to see a hybrid construction barndo utilizing steel framing with SIPS panels that has Zip sheathing on the exterior. I believe there is a company out of Tennessee making those panels. Keep up the good work!

Is there a reason for using metal to frame the overhangs instead of wood? Just curious how that decision was made.

What is the approximate total cost of the black gold barndo project? I'd like to get an idea as this is similar to what we are looking to build too.

I have used their on line calculator that will put you in the ball park. It is easy to find on their web site. If you know the approximate $/s.f. of any conventional build then that is about the same, but with many advantages of a premium barndo, coupled with the substantial advantages of the zip system and its inherent many advantages that build up durability. With his stated premium multi-purpose upgrades for this owner you probably need to estimate this build 20to 50% higher. This is going to be a great family legacy home. If the economy settles down I plan to use Josh for my build, but I have slowed my roll.
