Will the standard Periapt 2 - TYPE 2 -DUAL 2.5MM cables fit the Monolith M570? Are the Periapts used here the standard cable available on their website? I am keen to get a pair of these periapt cables for my M570. I am just not sure they will fit on the narrow ear cup holes in the M570 and just want to make 100% sure. Thanks.

With the price now being $199 and some christmas money and some amazon credit I just picked these up for $120. All I have to compare them to is the HE4xx and they definately seem more clear. I don't worry about the sound signature as I use EQ pretty liberally.

@@the_wau_ I literally ordered them tonight. I have only heard good things about them. I like my he4xx's but listen to my hd650s, so I have been looking for a newer planar. I was looking at the aiva's- then 570's since it is the same driver, which naturally brought me to these. They basically are throwing in a free 100 liquid amp with these now so im just going for them. Should know Friday how they compare to my others :)

@@lok777 Must have read through too quickly lol, hope they meet your expectations! Bought, and returned a pair of M1060s a few days ago... Quite frankly just not a huge fan of how they sound, and they were barely large enough to fit somewhat properly onto my head, even at the very largest setting. After an hour of having them on the clamp became legitimately painful. I'd like to order a pair of Sundaras to try out as soon as I get my refund lmao, but M1070s, HD650s, or maybe something used from Audeze, are all being considered.

Zeos if you check your own forum you will see teardown pics of the m570 I posted. They are very easy to mod and adding more felt to the back warms them up a tad.

Zeos, can you do a LCD-2C, Sendy Aiva, and M1070 comparison for the M1070 review whenever that happens? I know in your LCD-2C review you talked about the M1060 not being better than the LCD-2C, but I think it would give us a better comparison for if Monoprice have increased their value over more expensive options like the Aivas that you love and the LCD-2C that you liked as well. Especially since all of them are planars. Thanks for this review. Great and rambling as always.

I chose these Omni because their ''twin brother'' TAKSTAR HI 2050 is not sell/produced anymore and also i heard that the other clone,ISK HI 2010 is a little inferior to Omni's... I also have a pair of Superlux HD 681 EVO wich are just falling appart (shitty cheap build) and i'm looking for larger soundstage that i hope i will get with Omni. Please tell me if i chose best for my budget (50 USD) with these Omnitronic SHP 600 (i hope they use same driver as Takstar,at least thats true on specs...). Hey Z. Do you have the influence on Monoprice to tell them to get their stuff together with the EU/German store? Importing them is almost more expensive than Sandy Aivas... If they were available. But the EU store doesn't even have M1060cs yet. I would really like the m570 for the retail price

Keep an eye out on eBay. Monoprice is selling these and for about a week they had a 20% off eBay-only coupon (looks to now be expired), but they may offer something similar again. That $60 off would mitigate the VAT, and they do ship to Germany.

Hello, I'm new to this channel. What should I do if I wanted to buy headphones for 60-100 € for comfortable listening to music and a bit of casual gaming? The headphones that I found where the CoolerMaster MH751 and it got a lot of positive feedback from Z Reviews, but I'm not quite sure if there are better options out there since the video launched. For now my question is if there are headphones which are like the MH751, but better for up to 30 € more. The mic is not a must, but a nice to have feature. I don't care about open or closed back designs. I simply don't know anything about headphones from Sennheiser etc.

They are rather bulky, but not MUCH more. It is just the headband design.

M1570 is heaviest at 700g (giga-oof) M1070 is 2nd heaviest at 580g (mega-oof) .... these are the lightest of the 3 new models at 515g ... which is still 'oof'

If you swap the pads from the Sendy aiva's these sound very nearly identical except wider soundstage. But in my opinion the Sendy Aiva's are way too over hyped and are blown away by the Hifiman Sundara's

I have a Question to all who maybe could be helpful. Iam searching for an External dac/amp which replace my Asus xonar essence stx. Headphones: BD Dt990pro 250Ω. I want to have more room in my case and want an external solution which is similar to the stx in terms of sound quality. I use it for music and Gaming, the stx is always in Hi-fi mode, no 7.1, 5.1 etc. i want clear neutral sound ( i know the dt990 isnt that neutral xD) but you know what i mean. No equalizer or anything is needed. What ive read and seen, i consider the Topping DX3 pro or Aune x1s as a good replacement but i want to ask before i order. Price should be around 250$/€. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

Just bought one from Monoprice on eBay with the 20% off coupon, to see how they compare to the Takstar HF-580/HI-3050, which are my current daily driver. With the coupon the Monoprice are only about $60-70 more than the Takstar, which IMO makes them budget comparable.

@@alfredoblanco3265 I posted a brief initial comparison over at head-fi a few days ago. tl;dr: Definite bang for the buck. Not as comfortable to wear as my Takstar (m570 is heavier, more clamp), but infinitely better cable. Takstar has wider soundstage, but m570 has better bass extension and overall texture/detail. Very close to one another in sound. Can't go wrong with either. Not a modder so can't speak to that front. For now, I'm letting myself acclimate to the m570 for a while and then will revisit the Takstar again.

@@alfredoblanco3265 Read through the HF-580 thread over there before jumping in and know what you're diving into. The permanently attached rubberized cable on the HF-580 is janky AF. However, if you are a modder, people are raving about it as a modding platform. On the upside: at roughly $160 shipped form the Takstar Audio official store on Aliexpress, there is very little downside risk. Admittedly, I'm a bit of a Takstar fanboi, owning the HF-580, it's domestic version the HI-3050, and 4 Pro-82s. I think they represent incredible value.

You must consider the amp and cable with planars. I would not use planars with anything other than tubes. Non-tubes IMO puts too much focus on already bright highs. For cables, I have never heard a silver cable that sounds good with planars. Far too bright. Get a quality copper cable of you choice.

Thanks to Z, i bought the Blon B20 (Sendy Aiva) and I hated it. Anemic bass (it can be heard but has no punch) with piercing, sibilant highs. The only good thing is the fit and construction.

The Jds Labs Atom amp is probably the best amp for around $100. You do need a dac to pair with an amp though. If you don't have a Dac and can't spend another $100, then look for Dac amp combos. I haven't used one for many years, but I remember the micca origin being a good option, but there are MANY other Dac amp combos in that price range.
