These are currently on Massdrop for $350. But, I think I'll wait for the reviews of the new Monoprice line up. It looks a lot like they combined a set of Audeze headphones, with a set of Focal headphones.

I got'em used for less than that in BR on the current exchange rate but we're on the peak of the purge. That said, these are not giant killers but I think they're the perfect first planars for the right price. Got Sundaras or HE4XX? Save your money to the next tier. I have some expensive planars and to my ears they're just that. These are the perfect gap between good dynamics and good planars. These have the planar "signature" sound. Cheap current Hifimans don't but that's just my ears.

@@CapaNoisyCapa I ended up skipping these and the new Monoprice line up. I owned a set of M1060 a couple of years ago, and I can't say that I was too impressed with them. I was lucky enough to pick up a set of LCD-2 Classics during Audeze's Black Friday sale for $495. I'm very happy with them. They are definitely a big step up from those M1060's.

No, unless you want highs that are very upfront and the same bass you get from a HD600, without any punch. I think there are much better options in this price point.

@@MadsTer I decided to go with the HE5SE for like $250. USD The highs are a little annoying sometimes but I really like them for the price.

@@Iridescence93 I haven't listened to those yet, but for this price range (350~400usd) you might be able to find some Focal Elear units used, and they are miles ahead.

@@MadsTer Thanks, didn't really consider those. I was looking at the Sundara, Blon and a couple of others. Maybe I should have gone with the Sundara for slightly more money but the He5Se are very good except when it comes to stuff like string instruments and high female vocals (bc the tremble is exaggerated with them). Still, I'm reasonably happy with them as an everyday pair for now. I'll keep the Focal in mind next time I'm looking through.

Iridescence93 the Sundara has very similar sound quality to the Blon, but the build quality is much worse, so getting the HE5SE was probably the right move.

Those pads look exactly like the second revision pads for the Aiva's. You can buy them on MusicTeck for $25. I have been using them for a couple months now and love them.

Just seeing this three months from release. So, what's the final verdict vs. Sendy Aivas? Was there a pad issue that explained the difference? I like the look of the Sendy Aivas over the Blon B20 and now they are very close to each other in price. Thank you!!!!

You're correct in saying that Sendy has released updated pads for the Aivas, they are perforated and have better foam. Although, they aren't quite as thick as the BLON 20 pads. Don't forget the Aiva pads are oddly shaped as well, compared to the uniformity of the BLON 20.

@@ZReviews I have seen "no fabric" on other sites too, written reviews and sales. So far only yours seem to have the fabric -- at least from teh sites I've seen. When you get the Aivas back from RMAF maybe you can do a quick comparison video and bring up pad-swapping.... !

@@CraigBowman Alright, they showed up today and I haven't really had a chance to get used to them but the first thing I noticed compared to my HE4XXs is the improved detail and highs, bass is punchier but the mids aren't as smooth or warm (might just be because they're brand new though).

I'm still puzzled between the DT1990 (treble pick & - detailed & airy than others), the Senn HD700 (no bass) , the Sundara (build quality makes me run away :/ ) , Ananda (a bit over my budget, & again, build), the Verum 1, the Focal ELEX (pricey too)... & now these... Well, as I assume I have to like everything Z likes (I didn't watch the video until 19:03 , don't blame me), my wallet is preparing a lawsuit against me so far.. hhh I like balance & accurate tones, sub bass, sound stage, imaging & details, about 500$ as comfortable budget (but ready to pull a bit + if deserved), & will probably need some "capable" monitoring pair, for editing. I'm ready to tune the hp with Equalizer APO, so the headroom of improvement through this is to take into account. I only have the Dragonfly Red right now, but will get the JDS Atom, & the Focusrite 2i2 as ADC + DAC (maybe the Khadas Tone Board if it's not a great DAC)

Is there ANY ACTUAL TEST on the sound difference before and after the "burn-in"? Do you know a single reviewer who recorded a test like this? Because unless there is a test and the difference is noticeable, i mentally change the "burn-in" word in my head to "i use a $400 power cable because it makes a difference in sound". Both equally stupid.

I mean the burn in is a little bit more believable because you're actually talking about moving parts and theoretically freeing up the driver to move more easily whereas the cable thing is just ridiculous, metal is metal, any correctly made copper cable is going to function identically to any other coper cable, same with gold and silver and aluminum. Is there a difference between 3.5mm and balanced? Sure of course any cable will generate rf noise. I mean some things use the headphone cable as the FM antenna and balanced will reduce/remove that noise. But the big thing to keep in mind that any of these things will at most create the most minimal of differences and the best way to make your headphones sound better is just to listen to them and allow your brain to adapt to the sound. But to answer your initial question yes there have been tests and I believe the conclusion was that although the computer couldn't notice any differences in frequency response when they performed blind head to head tests people usually preferred the sound of a burnt in headphone. I don't have the link but I'm pretty sure it was a really small focus group and so the data is kind of unreliable.

Zeos almighty , its only few hours left on massdrop for a sale . Considering that i'm into tech death metal music and electronic mostly , should i grab these for 350 ? I would, but some say the guitar is kinda stepback sounding !? I really dunnow , please assist . Its already midnight in my country , so , i'm patiently waiting ..Anybody..Zeos..Blon owners..??? So my first good headphones and every day pair are hd600s. I like the detail, and I like detail on highs.....is this a good option to go for some more kick in the lows, while maintaining high detail? I listen to metal, and some bass music. But I've always liked the detail on the highs, although I feel my fiio f9 pro and tin t2 / t3 are lacking somewhat in the lows. Those are my reference points.

Depends on your preference mate. DT1990 pro are quit bright with a wider soundstage then the 660s. Also, the bass extends deeper on the DT1990 and the build quality is also muvh better. Vocals sound better and more intimate on the 660s though...
