My grandparents were from Monreal, and my Aunt Mary used to tell me about this Cathedral. I thought she was making it up!! Sorry, Aunt Mary. We came from a marvelous town.

Apart from the Cathedral, what else is there?

I live in Monreale and I can tell you that well there is not much to see here apart from the cathedral and the cloister. I mean, there are many other little churches but nothing remarkable. By the way the cathedral is stunning and it's definitely worth to visit it. What I suggest you is to book an accommodation in Palermo and then come to Monreale either by bus or by car (it takes only 20 minutes from Palermo but it highly depends on the traffic) and pass there half a day. Then, you could spend the rest of your time in Palermo which is absolutely stunning and full monuments and sights that you can visit, but you could also have a good time there trying local food which is particular and in most cases different from Italian traditional cuisine which of course you can also easily find.

""And is considered to be one of the most perfect examples of romanic architecture." Doesn't he mean Romanesque? It's Romanesque architecture.
