I apologise if loads have already commented but only just at beginning of your explore at mo.... 11:20 tip window of red brick building, nothing u usual at first and then something all of a sudden, have tried to debunk as tree but it’s not! In some other videos I've seen Doctors would live in houses on the grounds . They'd have them furnished in a grand style and throw some lavish supper parties for their rich friends. I bet the same could be said of here. Got rich treating patients like they did and raked in the money and had free housing.... Hope Karma found them!!!

I worked there a long long time ago. Some of the older buildings were used when it was a "school for epileptics" When you started working there they would take you to some of the old buildings as part of the orientation and show you troughs that "students" were fed from. They would tell us of stories of people putting cigarettes out on the "students" and them chaining them down to beds, etc. Eventually it became a home/hospital for children with down syndrome or other mental disabilities. When I worked there I didn't see abuse to clients... but I worked there for only a very short time. I was threatened by the other employees there who flat out told me that I didn't fit in (I am white and they were Hatian) and didn't belong working with them, I was intentionally given violent clients to take care of and I had enough after just a few weeks.

I live 9 minutes away from this Asylum wtf- and my dad worked here in like 1990 something. he was making sure that nurses were taking care of the patients correctly. There are 2 asylums. One burned down from ECT and the other was described as "A paradise" from one that burned down.

Ah yes, I was trained here for human rights officer creds and ANV. Funny enough this is why it was shut down. Like Belchertown town state school, Massachusetts was closing down asylums and moving the population of "Clients" into the community group homes for quality of life purposes. And the state was cutting funding. Belchertown town state school was for just kids, and Monson had kids as well, there were "Bungalows" on the other side of the street that were JUST for the kids. Actual houses (Same side as the . Thresa Coffee was the head nurse for these houses. And her husband was the hospital dentist. This whole place and the original which is across the street, were for wards of the state. Everything you read in the history books happened on these grounds and across the st. Along with their own park. The clients could go up in the summer and use the pool, and other amenities like a merry go round (kids vir) etc. But the hospital was shut down shortly after a revamp, a lot of workers saw the shutdown coming, the state was bidding on outsourcing to the private sector, (A level 2 behavior client would be given to a company that paid their own staff along with a certain amount of money given to the company a year for "rent" and food, etc. They also have jobs for income, but instead of living in an asylum and having a job there, they get out into the community and live within the community in a group home. I worked for the "Private sector" at meridian associates. and had to have all the same creds as any state employee. and then some. we all had got certified by the same instructors from the state, but we all met here, at Monson State. I remember some of the people that worked there talking about the amount of airborne asbestos and lead in there, that knocking down the building in that valley was not an option. The place was creepy when it was open. but its nothing compared to the other abandoned buildings in the town of Monson. The town was founded before the country was the united states. And before that it was part of Brimfield Mass.

I’m shocked you guys got in. All explorers I know have been chased by security.even myself just a few days ago I was chased off after arriving five mins. This was a poor farm originally for Irish immigrants coming from the famine. It also was for the indigent sick. It became a home for children and then a home for epileptics. In its final days it was an assistant living home. They should open it as a park it’s just sad such a historic location is lost like this 😞

We where chased out the guy at the end was an employee working on the place thats most likely why the door was open it was scary af !!! i found it weird there was a crap ton of trucks and construction workers there in unmarked truck and this was durring the first shutdown tons of trains but the trains are most likely produce or something ! Im a roofer ive done it since 16 years old there are brand new roofs being put on my thoughts are they where building them into temp hospitals for covid19 but thats just a theory ! I want to buy this place and turn it into a paranormal wonderland !

@@LouRock I live 2 minutes away from this place. Right behind my house are train tracks that you can follow and will lead to some of these buildings. I’ve recently seen a lot of construction also idk what they are doing but looks like they are covering up stuff with dirt. I know about a mile away there was some chemical spill that was hazardous and fenced off with barbed wire. My parents both worked at the state hospital in the late 90s and have so many cool stories.
