Hello from Korea. Loved the tour. I appreciate how you keep things real and show all your struggling plants as well: it's a reminder that despite seeming to live in an optimal climate for houseplants, it's unrealistic to have "perfect" plants. It was surprising to see a grow light in what appears to be a very bright lit space. Makes me wonder about adequate light requirements in my own space. Also, your children are absolutely adorable!

Hi Suzy! Nice to read your comment :) Yes agree, even though my place is humid and tropical in India, there is the challenge of very hot summers and challenges when it comes to keeping succulents too. And that space is duller than what it looks like on camera, hence a growlight is needed to keep plants thriving there. Also the grow light is quite high, hence it is a supplementary and not a primary source of light for those plants.

Good morning, I just found your channel, and have subscribed. You have a beautiful collection!!! I have a few houseplants too, okay I have a jungle. I understand the issues with lighting. We have long, cold winters here in KY, US and I'm limited on types of plants I can care for in the cold months. Cacti and succulents drop dead within a month or two when they are inside my home. Humidity is around 50 % without humidifiers, and lighting is medium at best. Aroids do very well for me. I watched your Aglaonema video first, nice! I have around 10 or so types of Chinese Evergreens they are one of my favorite plants to grow, then Philodendrons for sure. Thanks for sharing! Happy growing!
@GeeksofGreen4 жыл бұрын
Thankyou for writing in Linda, great to hear your experience from the other side of the globe. From one jungle keeper to another :) Artificial lighting might help sustain succulents in the cold period, when Indoor in heated rooms. I dont have the problem of cold, but the hot humid summers are terrible here on even my tropical plants like calatheas and philldendrons. Nice to know about your Aglos. Keep visiting!
@lindamay63344 жыл бұрын
@@GeeksofGreen I have tried supplemental lighting for succulents, they still die a slow and painful death. But, aroids grow great here. So I'm sticking with those types of plants. Thanks again!

Thoroughly enjoyed your balcony tour Ann . You have maintained every nook and corner so well that I really appreciate . 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 One small request when you name the plants if possible mention the common name also . Please let me know from where you got that grow light . For last few days I am searching in Amazon . There are very few options . My balcony is small and west facing . So most of the plants are inside only . Though all my rooms are well lit , but some corners might do well if I put grow light - or in other words I can utilise some dark corners . Yes love to see how Nathan and Niah are enjoying in the swing . 😘😘😘😘😘😘😘 Please keep uploading more videos . And yes eagerly waiting for your plant table series as well .

Hey Ann I had a question dont u like native Indian plants like rose, hibiscus and other common plants as they would be much easier to grow as u are always with new problems with fancy exotic plants try some native and see the magic!!! P.S- I'm sorry if u feel bad for this and plz reply ..✌🏻✌🏻
@GeeksofGreen4 жыл бұрын
Oh that's a misconception that the rose and hibiscus are easy because they are native to our region. I have tried them and because they didn't get enough light they didn't do well. I have yet to come across a gardener who doesn't face issues with plants they keep(common or rare) So I always say keep what makes you happy and what suits the conditions of your city or specific spot. The ones I generally keep are tropical, sub tropical plants that have been loving my balcony.

Hi, I love your videos full of info. I wanted to ask about the grow light, these days it's very less sun light plus I live in Airoli Mumbai so even lesser and on top of that our building is fully covered in green net to prevent rain water. All in all there's hardly any sun light my plants are getting. How is the grow light and how useful it is? I have flowering plants like mogra, hibiscus and others I don't know name of and doubt it will grow any flower without light.
@GeeksofGreen4 жыл бұрын
The growlight is pretty useful. Will try and make some content on it. Check amazon for growlights or just use a lamp with CFLs or LED bulbs. Specialized growlights are better than regular bulbs.
