Love how you don't know the boys' history but caught I.M.'s line about being the last of seven and saying "they could have chose the wrong one." That was very much the mood back then when they were on their survival show "No Mercy" to form Monsta X. I.M. was brought in suddenly midway/close to the end of the show after some really solid singers/rappers were voted off. The remaining guys didn't want him there at the time because a lot of their friends had been kicked off already. They wouldn't even talk to him. There was a lot of talk about him deserving to be there, especially to come into the competition so late. It stayed a little rough for a bit and it's taken until a couple years ago for him to blossom out of his shy shell. Now he's a very much loved member and cared for as he is the baby of the group. He just released his first solo album last Friday, God Damn is the title track!

I love to see Monsta X get love! They're incredible and I'd highly recommend checking out more from them as a group and their solo projects. Joohoney released music not too long ago, and IM (he's the rapper that you liked in this song) just released an mv and a mini album. Wonho is no longer with the group, but he's a solo artist now. He has two mvs out and has a comeback in a week. I'd recommend Open Mind first and then Losing You. I think it would be nice to see a schedule. Like have days where it's dedicated to one group, and a couple days for new groups/soloists. Maybe just rotating it every other day? Maybe one day a week, or every two weeks for a deeper dive into an artist? So there is some structure to things, but not too much that you get burnt out. But that's just me and I like schedules and knowing what's upcoming.

For reals, it’s always so nice to see Monsta X receive some appreciation. I understand they technically aren’t underrated seeing how they one of most successful groups of their generation but they aren’t given proper love and appreciation often so it’s always cool to see when they are.

Man, I forgot how good this song is... I agree with everyone else in the comments that you should check out both rappers solo work! I.M's Horizon and God Damn (just came out), Jooheon's Psyche and Red Carpet. Also, the most recent album Fatal Love. Monsta X's album b-sides are amazing so I recommend listening to some of their albums outside of the title tracks (which are also bangers don't get me wrong).

So glad you like this! Monsta X has a lot of content to choose from, and a lot of variety in style as well. You might consider doing an album first listen for them as well to really get a feel for their music. Some of their best work is on the b sides. The guy that said 'the last out of seven' is Changkyun aka I.M. He just had a solo release called "God Damn". It's a vibe. You might like it. I also really think you would enjoy VIXX - Scentist, if you get the chance.

A 5 in a row for Monsta X would be great. Their English album is a must if you’d like to dive into a very different side of their music. I’d say a reaction to Middle of the Night, Follow, Beautiful, Wonho’s music, and DRAMARAMA, would be a fantastic introduction to them. Music is just so amazing and universal, despite K-Pop being labeled to only one particular genre, it manages to be so adventurous and diverse, which is really what makes K-Pop fun, and music in general enjoyable.

Just a quick backstory was that Monsta X was formed by a reality survival show with the same name, I.M. was brought on a few episodes in and at first none of the guys liked him, thinking that he was just coming in and using some of the base that the others had made. I think having a day for different groups and solo artists is a great idea! Go chronologically though, if possible, because you can really see the musical evolution of groups who have been around a while. You can really tell how artists sound changes over the years while still having that same flavor.

I would suggest to really set aside schedule per groups as this will give an opportunity to actually see their different genres. MONSTA X is a versatile artist and their lyrics do have deep meanings like their song 'Flow'. Monsta X's Nightview and Nobody Else also has different vibes. Their all english album 'All about Luv' is a chill, non-skip, all in one package album 😊
