They just recently celebrated their 20th anniversary. And are currently down to 2 members. Mirotic is a song that has been covered by alot of groups. Not just boy groups. Their killing voice was 😘. I have it on repeat.

There are TWO compulsory cover anthems in Kpop; TVXQ Mirotic and Super Junior Sorry Sorry. like every famous kpop idols now used to cover either one during rookie days. such legendary songs.

Yes you got the debut right :) Hug - late 2003 (BTW Changmin was 15 and the others were 17 yrs old) Mirotic - 2008 *In 2010 the group split due to contract dispute with SM, 3 members left and became JYJ, Yunho and Changmin continued as TVXQ.

@@BestFriendsReact after the split, the three created their own agency and in a group named JYJ. They were banned though to perform in korean music shows because of the connections of the previous agency so they ventured out and tried other industries. They were in the group until Yoochun’s scandals (related to drugs). Junsu (the one with laser) is one of the most successful musical actors. Let’s say, revived the musical industry in Korea. He released albums but is more on musicals. Jaejoong (the one tied up) is still a singer and sometimes act too. His album’s genre is mostly Rock music. And very good at it. He owns now his own agency. He is also one of the richest idols due to his businesses. Yoochun (the one in glass cage) was one of the most successful idol turned actors but due to his scandal, you could say he is banned now in korea. But does fanmeets in other countries. These three were arguably the most popular members of the group so during the split, the duo (Yunho and Changmin) would have thought if will survive and they did. They were my first kpop group to stan in 2008, saw their peak, their split and their comebacks. I am so proud of them all - well, except Yoochun haha.

Anyone, claiming to be a K-pop fan, should know about DBSK5/TVXQ5. They, as a quintet, are one of the pioneers in its expansion. In 6 years, they have 4 Korean and 4 Japanese albums with wonderful songs, some of which are in the evergreen category. Their separation did not allow them to take the last step - global success. Find time to get to know with some of JYJ's performances! These are the three who left SM Entertainment.

TVXQ's "Mirotic," which came out in 2008, is a classic in the Kpop industry and every new rookie group -- both boy groups and girl groups -- learn this song and choreography and almost every rookie has performed it on music programs, award shows, at showcases, etc. at least once in their career. This song, like SHINee's "Ring Ding Dong," Girls' Generation's "Gee" and Super Junior's "Sorry Sorry," etc. is pretty much compulsory for everyone in the entertainment industry to know and learn the song and dance to. "Mirotic" is a made up word that really has no meaning, but it is derived from a play on the word mirror + otic -- the title was originally supposed to be something like mirror but they thought the word sounded better if you added otic to the end of it, (it made it sound cooler, or something.) Think of it as the words mirror and exotic combined -- that's just how you pronounce the title, not the meaning of the word. In the MV for "Mirotic" the woman is supposed to be a siren, like from Greek mythology, and she is tempting and trapping or luring the TVXQ members to her. Like they say in the song "... I got you under my skin ..." But in the end you see how the members have broke free from her control. (Often in Greek mythology the siren, through her intoxicating love powers, lures guys to their deaths.) TVXQ's fandom is Cassiopeia and their fan color is pearl red -- which is why you see one of the primary colors in most of TVXQ's MVs is red -- and when you attend a TVXQ concert you will see an ocean of red. Therefore, if you look up the lyrics for "Mirotic" you will see the "red ocean" they are referencing has a double meaning -- The "red" ocean is what the siren is trying to capture the TVXQ member in and she is trying to use her powers to capture and control them (red is often used to represent a powerful force) and it's also referring to the "red ocean" of their fans. Welcome to the Cassiopeia fandom. (Their fandom is named after the 5-starred constellation, Cassiopeia, because they originally were 5 members who were supposed to be gods who came from the stars and their fans are what connects all the members together.) If you like TVXQ then you are a Cassi. (In Japan their fans are called BigEast because Tohoshinki are Gods of the East and they have one of the largest fandoms.) Changmin (the youngest member) -- the one with the cat in "Hug" -- was 15 and U-Know was 17 years old when they debuted, so, you're right, they were all very young in their debut "Hug" MV. Although they are one of the senior Kpop groups, Changmin is only 35 and U-Know is 37. TVXQ is SM's most senior group that is still active, but U-Know and Changmin are still younger than, or the same age as, many of the members of the legendary groups who came after them within their generation. They are best friends with Super Junior and they pretty much all grew up together. Changmin is also best friends with Minho from SHINee. And Xiumin from EXO says Changmin was one of the reason why he auditioned for SM because he wanted to meet Changmin and become like him. TVXQ truly are all-time legends in the music industry. As an SM Entertainment group, it's no surprise that they are outstanding vocalists. TVXQ was originally supposed to be a purely acapella group, so they all have amazing vocals. They actually have several acapella performances in their early days that really showcase how amazing they were as vocalists. TVXQ is one of the reasons why SM is known as a vocal powerhouse and why the company has come to be known for having some of the best dancers and vocalists in the industry. Here is some background to help you understand the dynamics of TVXQ better. TVXQ (English and Chinese)/DBSK (Korean)/ Tohoshinki (Japanese), which each are the abbreviations/acronyms of the words in each language that translates to mean "Rising Gods of the East," debuted in 2003 as a 5 member group. But, in 2010 three of their members left SM Entertainment and the group and formed a new group called JYJ -- the initials of the members: Junsu, Yoochun and Jaejoong. (Up until recently, JYJ was still a group and they still produced music, but because they left SM Entertainment -- one of the most powerful and influential companies in the industry -- on less than ideal terms, it has made it more difficult for them to promote themselves and their music. So the members of JYJ are more known as actors and producers than they are as singers now.) However, Max/Changmin and U-Know/Yunho continued as TVXQ as a duo. The day after Christmas was TVXQ/DBSK/Tohoshinki's 20th anniversary, and even now as a duo they are so talented that they have the vocal range to cover all the parts of a song between the two of them, including rap.

Mirotic =Miro (maze) + suffix "tic" The Korean title of the song is jumon, which means “spell” because the song is about being under a woman’s spell then eventually getting her under their spell.

Thanksssss .This is what I've been waiting for. Gods of Kpop, the legends . Their vocals are insane especially the harmony of acappella! I miss 5 of them. I recommend : Rising Sun / "O" Jung ban hab / Tri-angle / My Little Princess (Acappella) / Borelo ( live at Tokyo Dome)

youtube recommended me "mirotic" and so I had it in my playlist long before I heard the word "kpop" for the first time. I still have it in my playlist, the song is a masterpiece. I wish I got into kpop back then...

Mirotic is a word they made up. Miro means maze and then they add -tic to is. So essentially maze-like. Mirotic is another one of those very icnoic songs. I'm surprised they haven't remastered Mirotic yet. I'm sure by now you have noticed the major changes in their lineup since their earlier videos.

TVXQ debuted as an acapella dance group. That's why they were a vocally strong group. Xia Junsu ( 2:58 8:12) has a seperate Killing Voice. It's from 3 years ago but i hope you react to it as well. He is such a fantastic singer.

I'm coming in late but I don't think I've seen this little nugget so I'm gonna bring it up. The "under my skin" from Mirotic was actually censored for some time (I forgot by which agency or branch of the Korean government, but SME literally had to go to court and defend their word choice). TVXQ had to sing "under my sky" instead of "under my skin" before the Korean court ruled that the lyrics weren't too provocative for broadcast and they were able to perform the original version. Your comment about it being sultry... well let's just say you're onto something. SME knew what they were doing.
