@@paolapaola2284 Buying shares of a company in the stock market. It's like loaning a bit of your own money to the company, who then uses it to invest on things that can be purchased by customers. The extra profit is then shared among "shareholders", aka the people who bought stocks and therefore "loaned" their money to the company in the first place. It should work like put 1000 dollars in, get 1100 dollars back, but of course the risk is that the company actually loses money instead of gaining it, in which case you will also lose everything you gave them.

@@waitingforilhoonie It has been talked about a lot, but I think most Koreans are just finding info about it (because it's getting trendy) rather than actually investing. On the other hand, online shops are something they already know a lot about, so they don't have to use search engines to find those. But yes, a lot more people are getting into it these days than before, and I believe it's because of the changing economy in Korea... people have huge credit card loans and rents are just continuously rising... so I'm assuming some people hope to improve their own finances by investing on e.g. Hybe or something. Well-off idols are still probably investing much bigger sums than average Koreans, though.
