There’s a theory that Gnosis are tracking devices, which is why he gave his up so easily. That he was sick of Celestia using them as chess pieces. Like possibly he faked his death to further insure that he wasn’t found out by Celestia, or something? Idk, I can’t remember the exact theory.

Gnosis’ are like ID cards and make gods stronger, he had made a contract to end all contracts and in return he’d give up his gnosis, he also wanted to retire.
