Monster Crown Breeding Overview + New Crossbreeds Revealed!

The way stats are passed down reminds me of the RPG Maker game Pokemon Infinite Fusion, which I think is hilarious. I might have to purchase this immediately, even if I'm usually kinda weary of Early Access, just for the breeding system. I played the beta for a quite a bit but back then it was still very wonky with plenty of display errors, so it'll be cool to see how polished it is now. And to return to my malicious musical note friend (my favorite starter. Of the 3 new ones, the turtle is definitely my favorite.

@@GymLeaderEd Infinite Fusion is totally worth checking out in your spare time. You have soooo many options and ways to muck about with different combos; for example you can be evil and make the ultimate stall fusemon such as Chansey/Shuckle in that head/body order and slap an Eviolite on it, or you can fuse two mons in order to pass a busted move onto a better stat spread, like Omastar/Dragonite and Shell Smash. Plus, you can add custom sprites and the IF subreddit has such amazing spriters that you could take an otherwise boring fusion and have it become your favorite simply cuz its sprite is so good, like Sunkern/Steelix.

Yeah, the stuff you can do with the system is great. My favorite examples from my recent playthrough were a Raticate-Primape fusion (high speed and attack with Hustle and great STAB from otherwise average pokemon) and the Ghost/Fairy with Levitate I had longed for so long (I used Ghastly and Cleffa for it iirc)

Great job with the overview! It's a good thing you didn't get too heavy with the moves because it is definitely subject to change. The first hybrid definitely looks unique, but with that flower and weird shaped tail I would like to think it's a Jungro crossbreed cuz the flower matches the base form, just moved elsewhere, and I can roll with your type assessment. The second hybrid is much harder to discern, but your assessments definitely seems fitting for it, so based on that and the visual I'd guess it's either a Vera or Gallante crossbreed. The third one has me stumped too cuz it has that snake seafoam body, but that bottom part looks like a shell? It also has gauntlet hands similar to Igrawn but the head also has a sort of helmet to it? It has really electric colors with the bright green and yellow, but the color doesn't really help. I am positively stoked for tomorrow!

You should check out Jade Cocoon on PS1, it has a merging system where you combine 2 minions to create hybrids which also combine the appearance of both minions.

This breeding system is super interesting. I have one question tho. I know monsters have an evolution, or rather an elder version of themselves. Does every crossbreed have a unique elder form aswell? If so that'd be super sick.

There are actually going to be various types of transformations the atomic clock, which you're referring to will work on some monsters, such as gorgem, dracoyle and darwhol, but I believe it's based on the base form as of right now. There will also be synergy transformations, something called supergro and more. I plan on doing a video talking about them too :p

actually not a few ive found double what the devs qouted on release. love the old school nostalgia and the feel of the origional red and blue since those are my first pokemon games. 32 years old and die hard pokemon fan but i absolutely love the new tamer games coming out that have the look and feel but new and i even dare to say better battle systems and breeding mechanics.

gym leader ed you should play around with this system more. it says only 40 plus species in this wiki and ive seen over 80 already in the game. im cross breeding and im getting forms and monsters that arent even listed. plus the game is a bit buggy the devs have obviously left alot of secrets. try crosbreeding crossbreed forms with same and different attributes. its crazy i got mons i cant even find listed.

@@GymLeaderEd you should show some of the new monsters with cross breeding. i got some knarley stuff thats way origional design and i love the mechanics of the stats you gotta collect alot of types to get your mons stronger and mix the move sets and ive made some power house mons. its crazy

@@GymLeaderEd I have been following the kickstarter for months and the description really set high expectations that it does not really live up to. If you look at the following quote it sounds like every monster you make is a unique cross breed that you can only get from specific breeding combos, in reality visually it is just a set number of forms with a lot of recolors. "Something that always drew us in was Monster Breeding. The idea of combining the Monsters we bonded with during our adventures to create amazing new monsters got us so excited. Unfortunately, we never felt like the offspring was a true crossbreed of both parents - It wasn't a brand new species. In Monster Crown, the offspring are true mixes of both parents, in every way. This brand new species is totally yours - even to name. As you play online, trading and battling, your creations could reach across the globe!"

@@GymLeaderEd I still love the game I have a few lvl 100+ monsters from just a few days of playing, I am obsessed, and I know they plan to add new mechanics like fusion and other things. And who knows what applying the random monster body parts you find will do later.
