ack!!! theres so much to say here- everything works so well- im gonna try to dissect it scott didn't partake in the boogie curse in last life and is holding the sword but doesn't want to use it. and he went for ren with a bow to avenge pearl, his friend. pearl is called a witch in the series and definitely went insane, also her nymphs could be her dogs. she did the powdered snow thing and quite literally got colder. grians a watcher, so basically a god. his eyes are filled in and the wings show up in blood form, it also looks like he's holding flowers (poppy and lilac i presume) the scene from the boxing match looks like its from scars perspective, and since he's singing the song its so sad! matryn rejected the fair resolution and surprised scott and impulse and he threw away his remorse, while not quite saving lives, there was definitely some guile. also watchers be watchin' with he's acutely aware of scar see's himself become a monster over the course of secret life, villain is written on the paper in blood, running over his fingers, his scars are also in the blood form he was a villain to pretty much everybody, getting home could just mean returning to the dreams of other series while they are no longer playing, which means dying, and he kills a lot of people the voices slowly join in with "i'll become the monster" so it's like they were all thinking the same thing was that like real life at the end? that next animatic looks so cool, i can't wait!!! 😍😍😍

I don't think he became a monster, he more or less realised he was a villain and decided to try to change and be friends with people despite the secret giver not allowing him to be friendly, that's like a fate thing, you were born to be a villain type beat The reason I say this is because in 3rd life Scar only showed him being silly on his POV (Grian too I'm pretty sure) but in reality he threatened Ren and Martyn all for an enchanter despite being capable of just making his own or something, eventually killing them I don't remember much of Last Life so I'll have to rewatch that lmao but in Double Life he burnt down the ranch because they took his horse, they didn't even kill it so a more proportionate reaction would've been taking one of their animals or items so they'd give it back In Limited Life he kept trying to take Grian and kill him while he was afk and killed so many other people during it too, obviously it's a death game so this is more tame but that still makes a villain In Secret Life I feel like he realised this and decided to try and be a friendly shop keeper but the secret keeper continued to give him tasks that made him not so friendly, like it was pushing the narrative of him being a villain and forcing him to continue down that path

I have spent weeks feeling unfulfilled by the Life Series animatics platform because this song hadn't been used yet. You've no idea how long I've spent mapping out how this song fits Scar's win so well! I'm just gonna put my speculation for future lyrics below. "I lost my best friend, I lost my mentor, my mom, five hundred men gone." To me, each one of these coincides with a season. Mom is obviously Cleo - Limited Life Best friend is Grian - Double Life (I know this fits better with 3rd life but I already have a 3rd life speculation) Mentor is a hard one, but could be spun as Joel since he showed Scar how to go from dark green to red in a single session XD - Last Life 500 men could be the 3rd life Sand Land army. I see Scar in Secret Life as he thinks back to all of these alliances he no longer has. As you can see, I have *not* been obsessing over this. Definitely. I absolutely cannot wait for a longer version of this song. It's gonna be Epic!

I've already commented once, but upon rewatch: I love how the blood the winners are covered in fades when the justification is sung. It's almost absolving them of the status of monster when the previous frames of them covered in blood make it undeniable. Super fitting for the existential crisis that this song is, and all the more poignant coming from Scar's perspective. And when the blood is back in the final frames, but white? Not absolution, but acceptance? It's sooooo good. Brilliantly done! Also yay! Combining two of my favorite fandoms!

thanks! and yeah, they're two things that don't seem like they would work together, but just do for some reason. That last frame was me wanting to add something dramatic but forgetting to draw anything, so it's an old frame of scar in "real life" from my doomsday animatic
