I don’t understand what this means but every time Gabbie releases a song it directly mirrors my life. Out loud came when I lost my father, Satellite when I broke up with my first boyfriend. Honestly when I left the guy I was dating who abused me. And now monster when a lot of people have left me and I may be moving soon... the change from “really they don’t know what i’m made of” to “clearly i’m the one they’re afraid of” is interesting because the first sounds like she wants to intimidate them, but the second sounds more like she’s worried that everyone’s afraid of her. it’s like she’s changing her mind, which matches with the line in Monster reborn: “it changes with the moon” at least that’s my interpretation of it. also i love the song and i’ve been replaying the music video/ streaming it on spotify constantly and i become more obsessed every time!

Gabbie, I love how honest you are about everything that you go through. Can I just say that I relate so much to this song, and love it so much. The technicality of things is that people are mean and say things to you that bring you down so hard. You are beautiful, and you inspire me so much go through life every day. One of the many things people say to me is that I am a monster, and I think that they are right sometimes. I have to remember that I am who I made to be and that no matter how many people leave me I can always turn to the people who have been there all along and are there for me. To me it seems as if the song is about losing people but not only losing them, them running away from you. Leaving you to believe that after all of the consistent occurrences that there is something wrong with you. Which in this case can be symbolized as you being a monster. But I also think that monster could also mean being rude thinking you said something wrong and being a bad friend and because people are running away from you, you blame yourself calling yourself "the Monster that's been here all along". I love this song so much. It really surprises me it's not on trending yet! It really reminds me of how people are always doubting themselves whether they are secure or they have themselves out of social media. It's honestly really society's fault though because even though people think it's the "natural human thing" to bring themselves down, it's not. When we are born we don't care about how we look. As 7 year olds we didn't care about how we look. It's how we grow up to standards is what makes us think this way.
