It's been nearly a decade since I first played MGQ and it baffles me that nobody has tried to make a full-blown cover of this theme until now. Rengoku-Teien (the composer) made so much amazing music and I was devastated to find their site went down; It's what prompted me to cover this piece. Hopefully you enjoy my take on one of the best battle themes of all time! By the way I kind of fell into a nostalgia trap while covering this and was reminded of the times when MGQ, Dark Souls, Touhou and Vocaloid were my whole world lol I miss my youth. Oh wow, Rengoku-Teien's site went down? Thought all their music was royalty free? You also mentioned Touhou, some of the version 1 music to the first Touhou Labyrinth was made by that same composer.

@DarkFrozenDepths Rengoku-Teien's stuff is royalty free and as far as everyone knows, their website was taken down by themselves. I didn't know they had any music in any Touhou works, that's pretty cool.

I questioned this game yesterday. I want to say that this is one of the best, if not the best, games I've played. I started playing it with the idea that there would be nothing interesting there, but how wrong I was. The plot draws in quite quickly and for a long time. The battles are wonderful, the music is even better. You can't understand how good this game is without going through it. I advise everyone. Also thanks to Kieran Zane Roberts for the wonderful covers that have been in my head and not only for a long time.

This game uses couple of timeless tropes like "the hero's juorney" and "boy meets girl" and brings those to insane heights. If you want more of that stuff I recommend "Deus Machina Demonbane"(do *not* watch the anime).

Ah, MGQ. A game that did taught me to not to judge a book by its cover (seriously, who would've thought that a game about smashing Monster Girls would be so damn great with battles you need to plan instead of just over-leveling and button mashing Attack, absolute bangers in the soundtracks, an interesting and captivating world along with its lovely characters and story, even if you were to take out the main appeal on paper???), unironically became one of my favorite games even up to this day, and finally, absolutely *awakened many, many things in me*. Even though the OVA sucked, I still genuinely hope for an adaptation of MGQ one day even if it means getting rid of Luka playing Smash with other characters. Apart from Alice, whose scenes actually have a subtle but sweet touch if you notice the pattern as you progress throughout the game and her relationship with Double Idiot deepens.

With one of the best stories i've ever followed, filled with many life lessons and charismatic, diverse characters, MGQ has become my all time favorite game despite anything and everything. And there stood the Unblessed Hero, the son of a Warrior and a Fallen Angel, by his side stood the Sixteenth Monster Lord, alongside the Four Heavenly Knights, the mighty Granberia, the alluring Alma Elma, the excited and mysterious Tamamo, and the cold stoic Erubetie. Before them stood what was once a Goddess of Light, now a mess of flesh and bone, muscle and magic, what was once a bringer of hope and prair, was now a bringer of torment and agony, sorrow, not salvation. She weilded the power to erase the universe and remake it in her image, but for whatever reason, she felt the need to fight them. This was the last chance they would have, either slay the former Goddess, or be erased. They could not fail.

I remember being disappointed when the boss battle theme cut out for the main menu theme, so, I went into the game script file, removed the line that switched the bgm, and played it again.

So I don't think I even need to mention how much this game means to me, what with my profile picture and account name. Yeah... This game still holds a very dear place in my heart. I remember regularly going to RogueTranslations website to check the progress on Part 2 and 3 after having played Part 1. For a game about getting eaten/raped by monster girls this game's story truly stood out as a true gem among the Visual Novels of it's time. I stopped saving before fights and intentionally losing just to see the scene sometime in the middle of Chapter 2 because I just didn't care anymore and just wanted to see the story go on. Fuck this makes me nostalgic. One good thing about my online handle being the same everywhere possible, is that I sometimes meet people in various games who recognize my name and I get to have a good chat with someone just as cultured as us.

Yep, she was just too lonely that she went into Genocide mode and let Humans only for hers, and hated her Other side's feats and emotional control. But well, her emotional control did manage to form up, when Paradox Ilias lost all of her power. Despite not choosing her she came to like and love the monstergirls that also cares for her when they take arms with her. And Choosing her will see that development up close, as she slowly accept the Monstergirls aint that bad as she imagined, and also starting to get scared at her own 'Angels' that is actively trying to kill her and not follow her orders other than the Old generation of angels that she knows. So does her change influences the heaven, many more 'small' events between angels, mortals and monster girls lived in a simple harmony in the pocket castle. Of course with Monster Queens, monster lord's spawns, kings/Queens and her goddess along the way.
