Today we’re talking about some newly discovered g3 prototypes! Draculaura is one I’ve been wanting to see for a while, so I’m glad she’s been found in full!

I remember loving the prototypes when I first saw them and I still do now. as cute as g3 is, I do miss the edgier, more gothic look of g1 and that Draculaura would've been perfect

I think she shouldn’t have been THAT blue. blue would definitely clash less with the outfits they’ve been putting her in, but this ghostly white makes her look like more of a floater.

Not really.. it’s depends on the colors of the outfit too, and not even just that but her face too Different combinations give different outcomes that might look great or completely horrid

The prototypes dolls of Draculaura and Frankie scare me, I think it’s the eyes idk?? 😭 but their outfits slay slay so hard!!! I wanna put Draculaura’s prototype outfit on the Draculaura that was released and Cleo’s prototype is chef kiss adorable!!!

I like Frankie’s prototype way better personally, it’s still preppy just more of a dark academia look which I think is very fitting tbh. The only thing I don’t like is the pink lips. Also that Lagoona prototype is haunting! No wonder kids didn’t like it, they made her skin so light and she looks unnatural, similar to Toralei. I think if they added a more vibrant blue to her skin and brighter hair, she would’ve definitely tested better. And orange isn’t her color, but I think they tried to do that because orange and blue are two very popular colors with a lot of people. I think if they had put more effort into her design and added more rainbow to the mix, she could’ve looked really good! But instead they just played it safe and made her pink. Ik they could’ve done better instead of just making her pink. I don’t hate her design overall, but just knowing with a few tweaks and coloring changes she could’ve been perfect just makes me sad. It’s not just because she’s “Lagoona Blue”, it’s because it fits her so well and we all have that g1 version of her in our heads. I think Lagoona was hard for a lot of people because it’s just such a drastic change to make, especially knowing that if they had just gone back to the design table and made a few changes she could’ve been awesome. I can respect that g3 Lagoona is a new version of her for a different alternate universe, but my mind will always go back to g1 and that awful Australian accent that we all secretly loved💀

I think if they were really insistent on making her more pink / rainbow, they should’ve made her skin a more vibrant saturated blue like you said (I’m thinking like rainbow dash from mlp) and made her hair more of a “cool toned” rainbow. I think the most jarring part of the released lagoona is the streaks of blonde hair, at least for me, so I’d instantly take those out. I get they were a reference to G1 but….they don’t quite mesh. anyways so obviously we need pink, id keep the same strawberry milk hue or maybe a bubblegum pink idk. Then I’d add a darker shade of blue than her skin and a purple. Or something like thatI think shifting her color school to be mostly cool toned and mostly colors close to blue, would’ve been more cohesive, while still fulfilling the “colorful hair” doll obligations

All of the prototypes are great, they have a much darker feel and really stand out from other doll lines. You can see that the final result that reached the stores was to be sold to very young children, it is a shame because the quality went away with those prototypes.

Ugh, I waaaaant that Cleo! I think it's interesting that one of the main complaints for g3 is that it's too colorful and not monster enough, and all these prototypes are less colorful, more black, and more alt clothing styles. Like Frankie being more grunge than preppy.
