I feel like the cropped Frankie at the end with the gray face, is the same one as in the clearer picture. They just swapped the head out to the new blue that they wanted for her skin tone, added the new prototype outfit, and didn't bother making another prototype blue body at that stage.

I wish they kept some of the darker colors on the characters for their final dolls. Plus, we haven’t seen Deuce’s prototype yet. 😭

after seeing a higher quality photo of lagoonas prototype, I def like her more than the lagoona that they went with, at first I thought the head sculpt of the proto was a bit scary but now i like it a lot more, i wish they went with it.

I don’t think so, the dolls were designed before the movie (director confirmed it by posting photos of the prototypes and mock ups of the actors’ looks for the movie inspired by the dolls)

I feel like the prototypes were given to the movie team since they are the prototypes. So the movie designs are based on these and then the dolls were changed to their final product. After production had begun. Also we got a movie image leak before we had the three doll prototypes pictures that leaked later on

I do wish that ghoulia's color scheme was red again but the beany is fine and with her skulltimate secrets dolls face with syan hair would be fantastic

I love how they put the prototypes on metal stands but then 1) MHG3 doesn't ship with a stand, 2) if any Mattel doll *does* have a stand it's made of the cheapest plastic imaginable.

I like prototype Frankie's outfit more than what we actually got, plus black and white hair. I actually like blue lagoona more by seeing her in higher quality, the problem imo is the outfit they gave to her. Disappointed to see that ghoulia was doomed to be bad lol

Multiple can exist, some prototypes can be one of a kind but I think most times multiple are produced
