Monster High SDCC Voltageous Frankie Stein

I was so devastated when I was in the online queue waiting to checkout, then all of a sudden I got a message that the doll was sold out. 😭 I decided I'm going to try to make my own custom Voltageous Frankie. I bought a used skull shores Frankie in grayscale from eBay, and I went to the fabric store and got a bunch of silvery stuff. Hopefully I can get it to turn out. Wish me luck 🤞. I'll be making a video about it on my channel.

So, a Friend of mine, used to work for A museum that focuses on music iconography etc, in Seattle. This museum collected a good amount of Kiss costuming. My friend, responsible for archiving storage for all members looks, decided to embroider the makeup looks on the cover, for each Kiss look, on the muslin, to match the makeup each member. So, just so you know, out there in the museum world, there has been love and detail added to the storage of the original Costuming of each Kiss member via embroidery on the outside of each storage. 😊

Unfortunately the $75 is also with tax so it’s like 90 something but so worth it she is absolutely gorgeous! I went on eBay the day she sold out and bought a cheap one so I was very happy and I am very excited to review! She comes the first week of September! Stay tuned! ❤️❤️❤️

These dolls aren’t worth the stress, the hate towards other collectors, the anger, frustration, sadness or the money. Like you said, some people do get every single exclusive doll. Unfortunately some of those people aren’t the voice of “the people- the masses” because they don’t have anything bad to say about anything… have to stay on those PR lists and get invited to every event right!

Influencers should get free dolls more often (if not always)! Because of you, we are able to get a closer look at so many dolls and have the opportunity to decide the ones we're gonna get. People are too serious and hateful these days... What's the point of collecting if they're getting so mad about everything? You're the kindest! Wish you the best!

I actually have a couple of solutions for online scalping but I don’t know if they’ll work 1. Websites like Depop and EBay have stricter limits on what can be sold (for example, no new in box or new with tag mass produced items that have been sold on other websites or in stores in the last five years). This could also help limit counterfeit items as well). All sellers must sign a contract to abide by this rule. 2. There should be a waiting period to list items online. After the item is uploaded, it must be approved by admin. There would be groups of admin who specialize in whatever category they’re working with (i.e. doll experts, action figure experts etc). This would be an appointed position. 3. Scalping items should be illegal. Hands down. It should be a punishable crime, just like scalping event tickets already is.

I still don't understand the PR dolls. Don't get me wrong I'm glad you get them as we get to see them in your videos and for most of us that's the only way that we get to enjoy them but why do they need PR dolls sent out for a doll that sells out within 6 minutes on the Mattel creations website. The doll doesn't need advertising because you can't get it to begin with! 😂😂 I know that's not the creators fault. It doesn't make it any less frustrating though. Mattel know that there's a demand, they know at this point that these dolls are doing to be sold out instantly. They need to sort it out. Even if they release them in waves.

I love this doll and I love your reviews, regardless of how you get the dolls!❤ I was lucky enough to get Voltageous Frankie (my first SDCC MH doll for retail price!!!) during the MC drop. I can't go to SDCC so I figured I would have to pay a reseller, if I wanted get her. Even though it was stressful, I was grateful to even get the chance to buy her from Mattel. I plan on displaying Frankie alongside Webarella, original Voltageous, and the other Power Ghouls. I understand the frustration at not being able to get a limited edition doll, but all the misdirected animosity is beyond disappointing. Blame greedy scalpers. If there is money to be made by hoarding and then reselling a popular item at a ridiculously high price, people will do it. Remember toilet paper and hand sanitizer?!

I'm late, but my story about scoring sdcc frankie after waiting at the longest 3 minutes of my life. I really wanted this doll and on Saturday I got the notification that my frankie doll has shipped. I believe this doll will forever be one of my most valuable dolls and I'm forever grateful. It makes me sad that it was messy and I will always hate scalpers and bots because they always make me sick due to anxiety.

As a middle-aged collector who never collected the original Monster High, I am curious as to how I react to these dolls. I didn't even like Monster High at first. Now I like the Creeproductions, and they were totally worth the price ($40 CAD) to me. I also bought all the Haunt Couture, and they cost me $110 CAD. Every one of them has face flaws, and I regret buying them. As for Voltageous Frankie, I did try to get her and was sad at first that I missed out. Now I'm okay with it. Without any nostalgia, the main draw for me was how pretty her face is, and it seems to be less wonky than the HC Frankie.

I completely agree with your views for the doll, and I think she is worth it if you really love her and not if you don't. I'm sorry people get mad at influencers when it isn't their fault....Although It's quite annoying that people buy loads and sell them for more. It's almost impossible to get a preorder in time outside the US already, so it makes me a bit sad. I have friend and he's been trying to get some of the new dolls, but hasn't been able to get any. But I love that you got one I wanted to have a closer nosey at her! She looks gorgeous!

I think she is a really beautiful doll and would have paid the $75.00 for her, but alas, I wasn't able to get her :( I ran right over to ebay to see what the scalpers were charging almost immediately, and found her there for as high as $400.00! It amazes me the prices these people are asking for Monster Hight dolls, and it's very sad at the same time for people who can't get them due to the dolls selling out too fast, and/or the lack of information in time to save the funds. I have only been able to get three dolls this year and I'm glad for them, but I would like to have gotten the others which have been released. Who I am upset with is Mattel Creations, and I have complained to them a couple of times. They are making it very hard for genuine collectors/people who love Monster High to get the dolls, and scalpers seem to be "most" of who gets them. I saw someone doing a vlog, and don't remember who it was. But they said that there was a man getting five of these dolls signed at the convention! How did he manage to get five Voltageous dolls unless he had friends/family also buying for him. It's very unfair to normal doll lovers to go through this. My Walmart, in my very small town, didn't even get the Boo Riginal dolls at all. I ended up being able to get the Frankie doll due to an unexpected trip out of state where I found only her at a Walmart there. But I don't normally ever travel long distances just to get a doll. I really think Mattel Creations needs to make more dolls available; change they buying options, and make them available for longer at more stores. That's my rant, and I certainly don't blame you, or any other influencers, etc. for the doll situation. So nice to see you again Sweetie, and take care :)

Mattel Creations dolls cost around $140 Australian from the site, with shipping and currency conversion, and that's a lot to spend on an impulse buy. The Masters of the Universe collectors are having the same difficulties with the scalper bots, if not worse. One of the He-man figures sold out in under two minutes and the collector groups were very loud about it because the bots grabbed almost all of them.

I was so sad when people started attacking other collectors, for example for getting 2 dolls. There's a limit of 2 per person for a reason. I've seen so much hate "why th do you need 2 dolls, gimme one, you're an arse, I didn't get any and you have 2 go to... blah blah" As you said, the problem is people with eBay listing of 10+ dolls, send your hate there and stop harassing fellow collectors. I'm thinking of not using any social media for a few days after each MH drop, because it's just honestly sad seeing the bloodbath this community goes into. Also fun fact about the price, for me the 75 USD dolls will actually cost around 150 USD, just because of the shipping, currency exchange, import fees and taxes... And that's for one doll...my paycheck is monthly 1 thousand dollars and even though it means I'll be eating plain bread for the whole month, I'm getting this doll no matter what, because I love her and I love this hobby. Worth is really individual.

I think if the Mattel Creations higher-ups really cared about the people and customer service, they would set up a preorder. Say " between M/D and M/D the doll is on preorder and we'll make as many dolls as were pre-ordered". Mattel is a big enough company that they could do it and it would give them more money since there is usually more demand than dolls with their current system. I think this would make more sense logistically. It's sad and frustrating that people are attacking everyone but the higher-ups. It's obviously their fault; they're in charge.

I’ve seen so many complaints towards influencers that it has made me angry. I watch your videos to get an idea of what dolls are worth it to get as gifts (yes I’m that cool person), but it’s also because of you that I started my Rainbow High collection for myself. I’ve passed up on Rainbow High dolls because they didn’t spark joy as you would say. An influencer helps people with reviews and opinions of the dolls, and when it comes to the Mattel Creations dolls, people forget that. And I’m very angry that scalpers have these bots to get more than the limit, I’m angry for the collectors who wanted Frankie but couldn’t get her because of that. But it makes me more angry that I am seeing influencers got the doll given to them to review get more of the hit than the scalpers who are going to sell these dolls for way overpriced. And unfortunately, people will buy them because of they want them, because it usually happens that way.

I don’t understand the motivation of the companies to make limited quantities when they know the demand is more. The reseller market doesn’t benefit Mattel in any way. They are just making the $75. If they made enough for demand, they’d make more money, the customers wouldn’t get frustrated, perhaps to the point they swear off the brand, and it would quell any motivation for a scalping market. MGA seems to be much better at this. All of their dolls are widely available for long periods of time from what I can tell.

whe i first saw the voltageous doll i fell in LOVE w her and knew i had to get her ! as for the HC cleo and lagoona, lagoona is amazing love her the only thing i’m iffy about is her screening but that’s ok but cleo ? i really do think they could’ve done better in terms of her design because compared to the other girls she imo, is the most basic one. like her outfit has no detail whatsoever and on top of that it’s only a 2-3 piece outfit which doesn’t uphold to the other girls.

I was blessed to get her with the help Of a friend and I just LOVE her she was definitely worth the money to me and I will try her always 🖤 with that being sad it’s definitely not the influencers who keep people from getting the dolls and anger should not be taken out on them. The anger at reviewers getting free dolls or legitimate collectors getting the allotted two dolls is totally misplaced. Get mad at scalpers and the people who buy from scalpers, because that side market drives up the price. Mattel could increase the price and/or make more, and then they wouldn't sell out as fast. However, imagine the uproar if they raised the price to $100? Also, the rarity does increase desirability, even for regular collectors, so making a lot of them could be counter-productive.

Why are all the new Monster High Dolls that they AR being sold at Walmart are now $59. And up to over $100. At Mattel they say that they are being sold at Walmart for $24.95.

They are being sold by Walmart for $24.95, but currently the official retailer is out of stock right now. If you look at the listings that are $59 / $100, you'll notice that they are not shipped and sold by Walmart, they are being sold by a third-party (sort of like how Mattel sells stuff officially on Amazon but other people can "resell" older product as individual sellers as well).
