I started as a Blade Master, using the Sword and Shield. I was pretty bad at all of the Blade Master weapons, then I tried gunning and I now love it, can't stop playing a gunner now.

hey IHateMrCats here's a suggestion I have regarding your videos :P I got here from the board on gamefaqs and I am aware that you want to keep the videos as short as possible, however I think you should give a few more breaks between dialogues, a clear example is at around 1:52 As soon as you stop talking you start talking immediately again, that gives the viewer no time to "swallow" the information and retain what was said. These are all awesome videos and will help me a lot when I decide trying out the gunner path :D It's just an advice for future videos, a second or two of silence do wonders on information retention ^^

Thanks man. I will do that the next time i do a guide.
@Madcowe10 жыл бұрын
IHateMrCats Hahah great :D Actually, a thing that might be cool for you to make (if you wanted to) would be to create videos about "weapon collections" or something, what I mean by this is, which endgame Longswords "should" you have for maximum efficiency and etc :P Like a Pyro Demolisher for slime, XXX Katana for Y Z and W monsters and so on :P What do you think?
@MrCatsDavid10 жыл бұрын
MadGameCowe MH4U is coming around the corner soon so it may be a less relevant than what it was when i was making these weapon guides so that is something to think about. That and i do not put great emphasis on the perfect end game gear set ups, instead i focus more on player improvement. It's something to consider doing though so i thank you again however. Hell, you should be running the channel. Not me at this rate lol.
@Madcowe10 жыл бұрын
IHateMrCats ahahhaha that is also very true xD Can't remember the last time I wanted to buy a game before it even got out :P And I totally agree with the personal improvement part, it's by far what makes you win or lose a hunt, no matter which weapon you use. Heck, I saw a guy beating alatreon with a longsword and no armor or talismans xD ! hit and he would have been dead, that truly was an inspiring video :P I asked that because that's kind of what I'm trying to do at the moment hahaha, I want to make great weapons for the end game :P Pyro demolisher is cool though, and I think I'll make the poison glaive ^^ it sucks that you can't play online with only the 3DS though :c

MadGameCowe You should check out the weapon crafting lists here kiranico.com/weapon That should help you see which weapons are best for your needs.

I'm trying to figure out what armor set you're using here, but I'm having trouble. I think the cap is Dober, and the feet are Hallowed Jhen, but I can't tell with the rest. Can you tell me what you've got there, and the skills it offers?
@MrCatsDavid10 жыл бұрын
From memory i am using a Dober cap and full Hallowed Jhen. I had Element Up, Rapid Fire and Attack up Large for a certainty. They're may have been a 4th, probably health but when compared to the previous three it is less important. I am on Table 9 if that somehow helps. In any case you should be able to get the listed skills as they're three ooo slots and one 0 slot excluding weapon and charm. My default the set has Attack at +11, Bonus Shot at +11 and Health at +10. The slots where mostly for Element Up. Hope that helps.

So just to ask, what makes Gods Archipelago so different from other bowguns again? I ask because I have a basic version of it just sitting in my box and want to know if I should use it or not. for reference I am a long-term blademaster starting to try guns and who has a strong grasp of bows by this point.

God's is a Light Bowgun designed with the high end shot types in mind. It focuses of Crag S and Clust S to output a truckload of damage over a very short period of time. It will go through ammo very quick though so you will need to bring combine materials and books to restock mid-quest.

Hey mate just wondering what's the best of the 3 ranged weapons to use if I'm new to gunning? Normally use a longsword or gunlance haha
@MrCatsDavid10 жыл бұрын
It's preference based. There is no true best ranged weapon as i see it as it depends on what you truly desire. Have a look through the ranged videos and see which interests you the most and work from there.
@bradleymundy823110 жыл бұрын
I picked the light bow gun and things have been going okay, just keep swapping between that and a switch axe.
@MrCatsDavid10 жыл бұрын
Bradley Mundy That's good then. Some ranged weapons feel better for certain monsters in my opinion. If you become confident in your knowledge of the target, then you may wish to go to a HBG and take advantage of that damage output.

How viable is raw damage on the light bowgun? I really like the light bowgun but I would like to use it vs. the heavy bowgun because of the mobility. Would it be better to take the limiter off or keep it on if I'm looking for raw damage? Thanks in advance to all gunner's out there for answering this! ^^
@MrCatsDavid9 жыл бұрын
It's alright but it isn't the powerhouse that the HBG is. That doesn't mean it's weak however. Rapid Fire Normal S Lv 2's still hit pretty hard if they create an impact on the right hitzone.
@adamgrey68739 жыл бұрын
IHateMrCats What gunner weapon would you suggest as a solo option then? I'm looking into something that would work but I cannot stand the low mobility of the HBG. I like the bow but I don't know if I would kill things quicker with an LBG or Bow.
@MrCatsDavid9 жыл бұрын
Adam Grey Both work and you cannot go wrong with either.

TheNoMoreGamer It has some but it's low. Honestly i don't even need to factor it in in most cases. I think the abyssal gun has more damage however, i'm not too sure. It's been some time.

But how do go into rapid fire mode on the 3ds?
@MrCatsDavid9 жыл бұрын
You don't need too. Rapid fire is the norm if you have the correct ammo. You should just need to shoot and that's it.

It's strange... People keep saying that using LBG is easier and more intuitive than HBG... I personally prefer HBG and managed to pick it up and become proficient with it fairly quickly. LBG is still a pretty foreign weapon to me; I don't know what it is but I can't seem to wrap my head around how it works, and I find the HBG to be much easier to use and I LOVE the damage it can do. Managed to play through all the Caravan quests as a gunner in 4U, and now I've just gotten to high rank in the village quests of 3U. I love HBG, but I can't really seem to grasp or even find myself liking LBG. Next step, learning to use the bow!

Just wrote it in another post just as you wrote this so i'll copy it for you. IHateMrCats What skills do you view as most universal for LBG?
@MrCatsDavid10 жыл бұрын
Rapid fire but that isn't too hard to get. Element Up is really strong on a LBG but is somewhat hard to get. I love having it however. It depends on your style really, whether you want the extra insurance or attack opportunities of skills like earplugs or skills that increase your damage directly like Attack Up Large. All skills in the recommend section are ideal however, see what you like and go from there.

Hey Mr Cat's are you gonna do bios on the Monster Hunter 4 weapons too and I mean all of them because each have a new combo attack's and differences since their is a new engine behind the scenes their isn't to many differences but non the less their are a few with each weapon or are you gonna wait until M.H. 4 Ultimate comes out?
@MrCatsDavid10 жыл бұрын
I'll pick it up when it gets released here. The trouble is though that it only comes out on the 3DS and my current equipment is only suitable for recording on consoles so things may be a bit difficult concerning footage. If there is a way of putting the contents of the 3DS onto my computer then i could record that way, as far as i know their isn't a commercial option for really recording the 3DS so i'm a bit stumped. I'd love to do the videos though.

IHateMrCats In my opinion you could always just take pictures with a camera or use internet ones as you talk and explain things...if you have a good camera and something to hold it you can record it and make it less painful to watch like I did in my monster hunter video... Ultimately what people (and me personally) want is to know the information ahead of time so we can be prepared, as you said hunters need to be prepared for battles ^_^ If you have the time there is some info out there about monster hunter 4 that you could use to make some videos and I'm sure people would watch it very happily! There are also several players that use the japanese 3ds and have the game they make gameplays but not super epic awesome tutorials like you xD I wonder if any of them would be willing to help out gathering information to make a good set of tutorials :)
@MrCatsDavid10 жыл бұрын
Domaik The problem with that though is that it isn't my own experience. I can look at data charts and monster patterns online but i cannot give my own perception on the weapons/monsters before i own the game. I'll pick up the game for sure but i don't feel comfortable talking about things i have light knowledge of. That and the quality of recording puts a bit of a damper on the whole thing which is quite frustrating.
