This is a quick and easy setup guide to get you into Monster Hunter Frontier offline version and online version! Down below are all necessary resources.

TROUBLESHOOTING
Fix for "quest cannot be loaded" Error:
Go to the Github page of Erupe: github.com/Zer...
Under Resources you will find a "Quest and Scenario Binary Files" Link.
Download the Binary files and unzip them
Replace the bin folder in your Erupe installation with with bin folder of the quest files
Try booting up again. It should load and you should be able to do the quests normally

ive wanted to start playing the game a long while ago but a few things kept me from doing so, one of them being the translation part. do you know if people are still working on translating the game?

Sadly, I don't know if people are still translating the game. I would love it to be way more translated than it currently is but it's playable. I still think people are working on translations but obviously it's not as easy. In the current state, most important texts are translated.

thanks for the quick answer!:) good to know that the most important texts are translated, im happy and thankful that there is anything at all. one more question: at the beginning of the video you picked one of multiple servers to play on. if you change to another server, does your progress and your character with all your equipment, items, etc. also transfer over?

@@lcb6130 sadly no. The saves are stored server-side (like any other MMO). So the saves are bound to the server. I'd recommend looking for a server that you intend to play on the entire time. Also a lot of servers would not allow that since its basically cheating especially since you can manipulate data yourself on a offline save.

some servers do allow you to move but some don"t let you keep certain things a friend of mine comes and goes from meza to rain all the time! @@lcb6130

will this process work for private servers for you and your friends to connect online? I have a Homelab that can be used as a server.

I haven't tried it out for private servers yet. You probably have to change some settings so that the server is accessible from outside but I don't see any reason why it shouldn't work.

Thanks for all the help. Got into the game offline, but receive a "file not found" message when I open a quest. I'm about to paste qnd execute once more, but does this have anything to do with UPDATE.sql? I dont know if I missed a step with that

Everything works great after following the steps. Only thing left is that the smithy does not open, just the repeating couple of diologue texts.

I can't seem to get the sql files from the bundled-schema folder to paste into query folder

Back then, it run flawlessly on my old PC. But now, it has lag/slow FPS issue even with higher spec. Is there any way to fix this?

I can't help you with that sadly. I don't know about any performance issues but you might find someone on the Rain discord server that has troubleshooting.

I switched to a Dualsense controller (PS5) and with PS4Windows it works like a charm. The biggest issue was the right stick flat out not working.

Does the game even work with Windows 11? It always fails to open the launcher, and I've asked the subreddit only to get radio silence.

It does. I recently isntalled it on this machine and it absolutely works with Windows 11. So your issue is elsewhere.

@@trilightning I’ve fixed it and managed to login to Rain (US). However when I open the game it says could not open the file. Every time I make progress, there’s more errors…

@@trilightning Yes, the cause is dat\sound\system0.snd. There’s two errors which are entirely the same except for one having (4) and the other (1).

@@ZenithSolsticeYT one thing you can try is going to another server (like Mezelounge) and getting your files from there. This is where I installed it yesterday from and it worked out of the box. Just Google Mezelounge discord server and you'll find it.

how many event quests are supposed to be available using the local host sever? Can I make the events rotate somehow or that's automatic

I think they are all available and don't rotate.

@@trilightning on public servers there were 90 event quests available and on my local host there were only 64, it probably isn't a big deal but one of the guides I was goning to follow for progression required an event quest I didn't have. But Anyways, amazing video thanks for the help

Save location for offline play?

What do you mean? The sav.e for offline happens in the Erupe Server ( when you set up the database). I don't think it makes your save locally. It basically simulates a frontier online server

Hat alles super bei mir geklatppt, bis auf diesen "Could not open the file" Fehler beim laden einer Quest, bei dem du ja schon geschrieben hast, dass du noch ein Video dazu machen willst :) Ich weiß das ist jetzt ein bisschen offtopic, aber spielst du eigentlich auch MHP3rd? Habe da nämlich ein Problem den Qustom Quest Editor auf PPSSPP zum Laufen zu bekommen. Es gibt zwar Setup guides auf YT, hat bei mir aber nie funktioniert. Natürlich nur, wenn bei dir überhaupt Interesse besteht zu diesem Spiel guides zu machen Gruß,

Great tutorial, Very easy to understand. Idk how familiar you are with postgresql and Pgadmin. But I want to run the game solo and locally, Would you say just having a really good password in order to access the database be secure enough? If not I'd love to know the easiest and best way to make it secure. I stress about virus's and vulnerability's all the time.

It depends. I think a secure password is good but in the overall grand scheme I don't think it matters too much. If a person can already access your postgres database, they will already be on your pc in most cases anyway. I would always suggest to get a relatively strong password though, because it's just a way of being double sure no one can access it.

When does the error appear? When you try starting the launcher?

You have to follow the guide and download everything, then run the server on your own machine. you can do this without wifi, except the part about downloading the packages.

@@trilightning I found out that was the directory in the preferences, but now i'm having issues with the smith he only repeat his first line 2 times and he do not open the menu to build my gears TT_TT, but thank you for the guide. I'll try to ask around the communit and see if someone can help me becuase i really do not understand anything about this pgadmin and erupe things.

@@gurkejoey7968 Go to File > Preferences > Paths > Binary Paths then scroll to the bottom, recall what version of PostgreSQL you installed (check the installer name) then click on the folder icon next to it. Navigate to your installation bin directory (Default: C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\xx\bin) then click Select Folder. Set it as default then save and close. Then try Restoring

The game lets you rebind keys. Maybe check there? I never tried playing with keyboard and mouse.
