I really missed out by skipping gen didnt I? I didnt play it as I didnt consider myself as hard of a fan to enjoy it because I didnt play the games prior to 3U. Ohh boy I was wrong when I found out a lot of new players to MH got it dispite Gen being for veterans... Whoops.

But the feeling of meeting again the monsters, npcs, villages and areas we've known and got attached before is one of a kind. It legitimately made my cry after while hearing this song in the game. But you still got a good amount of those, even their villages is not in the game, every single significant npcs in the series are there. You still have a Moga gang, the Caravan, the Harth, Cheeko Sand and Cathar gang, with D. Island, A. Steppe, F. Seaway etc. Lagi, Brachy, Gore, Shagaru.
