For the people saying they should have released another full monster hunter game or don't want mobile style puzzle games. Please understand that this is not for you. Just like how barbie horse adventure isn't made for fans of God of War. You can simply choose to not buy this game and move on with your life without putting other people down for their game choices. They are literally about to release a full game and art still supporting their older games. Play those.

What do you mean buy? It's a free to play game with in-app purchases. If it were a paid game without those, I'd be all over it, I *like* puzzle games.

I was skeptical at first as its gonna be a Gardenscapes or Candy Crush clone, the power puzzle pieces are the same and the missions are too. One key gameplay difference is that you can match puzzles diagonally. And yes even power pieces can do this. This really changed how you usually play and plan compared to other puzzle games. Its much easier to match 4s and 5s puzzles with this feature. So the monsters in this game have their own unique mechanics for you to play around, Successfully hunting/repelling them will award you their materials, that can be used to make their armor for your palico to wear and build unique looking buildings. Story wise it has the cute palico MH charm, with you as the palico going around islands finding new friends, fight new monsters, and building new houses. As much as a disappointment this isn't a "real" mh game, the puzzle and challenges it provides is solid and fun. If you are a fan of palicos, puzzles, dress up and story telling. Give this game a try. Looking forward to how the devs will handle this game in the future.

Monster Hunter was releasing puzzle spin off games on PSP and flip phones 15 years ago, this release is extremely normal. Monster Hunter is a much broader franchise than people realize.

They're low budget, don't take a full AAA dev team to make, and with enough marketing, pay for themselves. It'd be dumb not to put these out when you've got brand names people will click download on as soon as they read it.

MH Now is actually really good. It was a bit rough on launch but there's been a lot of QOL improvements and it's easier to get rare materials. My buddy and I play it all the time and we have a lot of fun getting lost around the city with it. Capcom will never remake a MH game. They will only port or rerelease with G rank.
