The ability to throw barrel bombs down from the air is super useful for applying blights in Rampage. All of those fire/thunder/water barrel bombs that drop don't have to be placed by a gate before the wave starts. You can hold onto them and when you see a lot of monsters clumped together, just wirebug over them and spike the barrel bomb down onto them and you can apply waterblight, thunderblight, or fireblight to every monster you catch in the explosion.

Tip for farming materials: Hitting a monster with another monsters attack when wyvern riding forces it to drop up to three items. If there's a fight between monsters and the one that loses that fight wasn't the one you want to ride, you can launch it into your target monster the same way you can launch it into walls, which will make the target monster rideable and dismount you from the monster you're currently sitting on.

A Rampage specific tip from me is use Blast weapons in Rampages. Everytime any monster is afflicted with a status condition you get 50 points which levels you up a lot faster and almost guarantees maximum rewards from Rampages so it's highly recommended you create a Teostra Dual Blades set just for Rampages because Dual Blades apply Blast the most often and Teostra Soul gives you a slightly better Blast proc chance. This will ensure you're leveling up the absolute fastest you can which not only makes your Rampages faster and even easier but you're rewards are tied to your level at the end of the Rampage which can still let you get full rewards even if you miss a quest like say the RNG dependent Villager repel quest. Makes Rampages far more tolerable since you have to do less of them overall.

Good tips! Gotta' note also that gathering from a zinogre, especially an apex, is a bigger deal than just some bugs (which are already good for filling in zinogre point values for equipment or selling for stacks of zenny), too; you can also get shockfur/electrofur and apex shockshells from them. Also, fireblight from the red vents is nice, but I like waterblight from the blue ones more. Waterblight increases the HZVs (hitzone values) of all parts, which means greater damage, but also means that Weakness Exploit can trigger where it otherwise wouldn't, thus a lot more damage and, thanks to Master's Touch, a lot less sharpness loss. It's a great time to break otherwise resilient parts, like bazel or apex rathalos wings, basarios tails, and more. Mushrooms are really efficient for Motley Mix because you get a fairly high yield of the item that you were going to combine them into, herbal medicine, and more dango tickets than you can spend! Using points on raw meat is fine and all, but gathering shrooms is certainly already on the to-do list, and it basically ensures that you never have to pay for a meal and suffer low skill activation chances.

For number 9, I've found out another Wirebug technique that I've seen almost no-one use, although it might be a little situational. If you're out of Wirebugs and still want to climb up a wall from the ground, you don't have to wait for a recharge! All you have to do is do a wire fall maneuver like you would do *with* wirebugs, and do that right against a wall. While you won't jump very high, you will still latch on to the wall and climb up as if you had used a wirebug!
@SodaNaranja2 жыл бұрын

In my experience, I found that every way to climb a wall in rise is: - Any wirebug move into a wall, including wirefall from the ground - The "no wirebugs" animation (like you said) - Jumping off a palamute into a wall will result in a wall climb (like the first reply said) But what's more interesting to me is the ways in which you can *avoid* climbing a wall: - Jumps from ledges will not climb walls - Midair dodging will also never climb walls. This also applies to dodging out of a midair stop. Keeping track of when the hunter will and will not climb walls has allowed me to have a lot more control that I would otherwise in way more scenarios than usual.

Addition to #5: You can turn off the ability to initiate wyvern riding with an attack. In the game settings you can make it so you have to press A while sheathed, which makes it easy to do some damage if you get it off before they break free.

Funny story about the rampage skill transfer. I noticed that for the insect glaive, there was a weapon tree that resulted in a lot of glaives with kinsect level 8. Leading into that tree was a glaive with the kinsect level boost skill. I thought that if I got that skill and then upgraded it all the way down the tree, I would unlock some secret level 9 kinsect. Sadly, that did not happen. It gets capped at level 8 and cant be increased any further. On the bright side, there was one glaive in the tree that ended at kinsect level 7, so it was useful for that one. But for the rest, it just became a wasted rampage skill.

As far as sleep bombing, Ive never seen a MH community worse with insta-waking monsters, its so rare to actually have a chance to bomb with Rise randoms haha
@petersmith58832 жыл бұрын
Because sleep bombing dmg didn't scale with mhr monster hp , compare to world its like x2 So it is much better to continue your party's combo throughout the monster sleeping and waking animation Though you can still sleep bomb if the monster runs away to sleep but it rarely happens in rise, but some of the added new events with buff hp /dmg happens frequently.
@eat58022 жыл бұрын
@@petersmith5883 correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t remember MHW bombs ever scaling with monster health? And also keep in mind that we’re still in high rank and not g rank, so these non-scaling barrel bombs are likely going to do more than the high rank weapons you’ll have on you, if they didn’t then no one would use barrel bombs. And finally, the real reason more people are awakening monsters without bombs is because rise has way more new people, and the game never tells them that bombs are smart to use against sleeping monsters, so how should new players know? Rise is definitely meant to be a game focused towards new players more so than older titles, and that’s probably because of how many new fans the popularity of world brought in.
@JohnDoe-oo2lj2 жыл бұрын
@@eat5802 Rise HR monsters have far more HP than World HR monsters did, almost as much as World MR ones. For instance, using Anjanath :Anjanath in World has 18239 HP at MR, 5681 at HR and 3528 at LR, while in Rise Anjanath in the HR Hub quest has 13k HP and ~7500 HP in the LR one. So Rise LR Anjanath almost an HP pool almost as big as an LR Anjanath+HR Anjanath from World combined! So, while a sleep bombing does 150*7+300=1350 dmg in both World and Rise, it does almost 25% of an HR Anjanath in World, while it does only 10% of an HR Anjanath in Rise. That's what the first reply meant by "didn't scale with Mhr monster hp". As a result, sleep bombing in Rise is in fact a dps loss in most of cases, since the time spent placing bombs and readying the wake-up attack is so high for a measly 10% HP, that just using the sleepy&waking up animation to continue doing damage is better. Just use 4 powerful silkbind moves in that time frame, and the team is already ahead of sleep bombing, and that's not even counting regular attacks...

Bombing the head is great when you don't have a greatsword longsword on the team, their wake up will do more damage to both the horns and the monsters health bar than bombs can

Another useful tactic in most cases is equiping both your companions with sleep or poison weapons. Their damage is almost negligable anyway, so getting a free poison or even a free sleep proc on most hunts is super useful.

As a GS main, I confiirm tip7 is a must know for every single hunter out there. It is super frustrating when you see people place bombs near the head when the moster falls asleep...

One time someone (I can't remember if it was a random or my friend) placed bombs right in front of where I was charging and I had to aim away and reposition before I could try another slash. Truly is annoying, especially when you're midcharge and then you slam the bomb and lose the wake-up hit
@karmicknight2 жыл бұрын
@@catgoaaaaaaaaaaa6152 it feels even more annoying on LS, some players know that GS is amazing on wake ups but even fewer players know that LS has an amazing wake up, as an LS main that was once a GS main it peeves me so bad when people place bombs or just immediately wake up the monster.

Something that can be added to tip 11 is that it's not only being airborne. Fast traveling can also skip the animation(which is what I personally do) and being in the camp also skips the quest end animation

with tip number 2, im so glad I played some of the older titles. in MHFU you also have the option to mine the back of basarios and Gravios, in MHP3RD you can use a bugnet to capture the bugs on his back. I'm so happy they kept this little mechanics!

One thing I haven't seen players on pc do yet is adjust their auto shout outs to give better context to what's going on in the fight and what they are doing. You can set it to say when you are sharpening a weapon or healing for example.

Regarding #11: it's not limited to just being airborne (wall running, falling, giant wirebug, etc.). It also seems to work with standing on destroyable structures, like the buildings in area 9 of the Shrine Ruins and the pillars in the arena. If they're still intact enough to climb up and stand on, you can use them to skip the ending animation (and end on a pose or gesture of your choosing).

I'd also add, if a secondary monster comes to your target monster, and it becomes rideable, ride it, deal damage to target monster, then LAUNCH IT TO THE TARGET MONSTER. That way you can make either bump it into walls for damage, or fight the secondary monster for loot.

@@ozzy1243 you wouldn't believe how many don't know that tho. So many people in multi on PC don't do it. Heck, some even launch monsters into walls only ONCE. It's obvious for us, but there's new players all the time, especially right now

You don't need to do a Wirebug Dash in order to use the A-button hang in the air, either. If you're jumping off a ledge, or when you're falling after hopping off a Wyvern Ride, you can just use the A hang and then dodge out of it to boost in whatever direction you'd like without spending a Wirebug. Very useful for keeping your mobility flowing without running out of resources. Also, you can skip the victory animation for quests by just hanging on vine walls, or standing on destructible terrain (boulders, Arena pillars, installation platforms in Rampages, etc.). The game only feels comfortable playing them when you're on stable ground basically lmao
