Very early speed run of the village Nargacuga using suboptimal starter armour. People thought Long Sword would get nerfed in the full game but it is still VERY strong.

Thanks. Yeah sometimes you are in a spot after helm breaker where you won't have enough time to special sheathe so the best option becomes to Foresight slash. That's why it's good to always react to what the monster is doing after landing a helm breaker as temping as it might be to auto-pilot and get back into Special Sheathe stance.

I’m new to this weapon how do you do those attacks? The air one? And the one where u slash and then damage happens after?

The air move is the silkbind skill "Soaring Kick" (ZR + X), and the Slash with delayed damage is the "Iai Slash" which is actually a counter move with 2 parts. Following any attack hit (ZR + B) to active the "Special Sheathe" stance, from here you can activate Iai Slash by hitting ZR again, ideally the moment before being hit to successfully land the counter and get those delayed hits. If you're interested there's already some great longsword guides on youtube to get you started!

Yeah, speed running will make anything look easy but rest assured, most speed runs are only possible after tons of practice in the particular matchup. Definitely don't expect to be as effective within your first few tries lol. You really need to know all the little timings of all the monsters moves if you want to play like this. But anyone can do it with some practice.

And no great armour skills used either, this is just the starter armour. But to be fair this is just the village Narga, the HR one is definitely much more beefy but I'll try to run it as well once I get there.

How are you going from Iai Slash straight to another Iai Slash?

if the iai slash is a counter, then you can directly go into an another special sheath

Is the jump slash thingy your silkbind attack? Haven’t used the great sword yet

The jump move is the" Soaring Kick" silkbind for long sword, commonly refered to as Helm Breaker by lots of people

You don't really need to know this but the reason it's referred as the helm breaker is because that's ehat it was called in world and technically this game too but the silk bind move is soaring kick also this is long sword not great sword don't know if that was a mistake on your end tho

You'll get there! All about practice and I practiced a ton in the demo prior to the game coming out. Only reason I was able to put this out so quickly.

Dude this guy is even better than Peppo and Team dark side combined,but you still need to time your iai spirit slash since it's a god frame your gonna be dodging every attack in the game.I wish i could play Monster hunter Rise

The fun of game in this video is that you are absolutely not able to fight like this when you first start the game or fight this monster the first few times. It takes time for you to learn and practice to be able to counter with a long sword like this, which makes it challenging and fun. It is the progress and the satisfaction.
