Half of the run Magnamalo isn't even in the resin swamp for the extended topple duration, so that's some seconds of free damage lost to RNG.
I've had runs that had the potential to get sub 5 for sure, but either I messed up and carted or the monster/environment messed up my damage uptime.
The RNG and my insecurity with running Adrenaline really complicate matters, so I'm satisfied with this time. To beat this time I'd have to solely run swamp Magnamalo spawns, which are super rare and I'm done with resets for now anyway.
Don't even know whether the Mizu Glaive was the best choice here, it has some base affinity so it is easier to build than other water Glaives, and mostly just looks better so I chose it.
Maybe a thunder Glaive could be better, I remember regular Magnamalo's hellfire parts being weaker to thunder than without the hellfire on them.
Still, the monster is a great fight when I'm not at 1 HP trying to get maximum damage uptime, a huge improvement on regular Magnamalo. The extremely high hitzones on the armblades give the fight a very nice risk to reward ratio.
Some attacks are clunky and difficult to avoid at close range without a counter or block, but those attacks don't cart me from full HP so it's just a speedrun issue.
