Descending Thrust hits twice on the head with the physical hits (394 and 490 damage), while the other small damage numbers are Thorn Pods stuck on his head from the prior wallbang exploding (18 damage). The Kinsect hits Alatreon's head because it performs a follow-up drill attack if you do Descending Thrust with the Kinsect on your arm and hit the marking strike at the end. Look up Kinsect Drill, there are probably many in-depth explanations of it and how to maximize it.

The sequence starting at 1:50? I watched the Karl Jobst video and the underlying in-depth analysis of this topic, and the slides explained that a stagger or other interruption resets his attack combo to 1, which means lightning rain->interruption->lightning rain is possible. Alatreon chooses lightning rain in a combo string, loses the combo due to a stagger, and then starts off a new combo string with another lightning rain. What's not possible in a vanilla Alatreon fight is lightning rain->lightning rain in the same combo string, so without any sort of interruption in-between, from what I've gathered and seen in the modified deva runs in question. Do correct me if I'm wrong anywhere.

No, it wasn't on rage mode. The first elemental damage threshold was achieved that's why it reverted back to normal.

You can see agi stopped working the moment before he yeets the monster. Sometimes map indicator is just slow to update this info

On top of what the other comments have pointed out, you can see Alatreon enrage roar after the wallbang and Agitator activating again after wearing off prior. The red eye on the minimap doesn't immediately switch to yellow if the monster is locked in animations, like the horn break into wallbang here.

This particular save has 280 hours, but in total I've got around 400 hours on steam. No clue how much playtime I accumulated throughout the ten-ish years the game was out before the steam release, though.

Some glaives have the "Spirit and Strength boost" which allows you to get both kinsect buffs with any slinger ammo.

Fatalis armor 4 piece set bonus includes 200 HP, 200 stamina, and True Razor Sharp.

I don't mod gear. Targeting Attack Boost at the melder with the best melding option outputs Charms like the one I was using here easily.

i used lance to beat primodial malzeno, who i wasn't able to beat with gunlance. now my only challenges are shagaru and valstrax. the way you fought it is really inspiring.

Actually using kinsect for elemental topple is more easy than using the glaive lol, just spam the kinsect recharge when empty guarantee a topple before dragon mode dragon mode at late

Might be custom augments if it's exactly 25 displayed attack difference. My custom augments are all attack where possible, so you could have less attack but more element or affinity for example.

I went into the clutch claw aim mode and walked off the ice ledge. So my input that would've sent out the clutch claw was received mid-air and made me do the spin, which in this case wasn't as bad because I could then aerial clutch claw out of it. In general, ledges are a massive meme.

You need to deal enough elemental damage to topple him, which weakens the nova's damage enough for you to heal through it. The game will tell you once you successfully dealt enough elemental damage, so just bring an ice weapon and hit the frontlegs.

So essentially if he starts in fire active mode you want an ice weapon and aim at the fore arms for most elemental build up. Dragon phase aim only at the head for the horn break. Otherwise he will switch elements and you won't be able to get the knock down

You might be able to I'm dragon phas if you have the elemental build up but then you still have to break a horm

I agree that it's really fun to hit big pierces, especially with the Kinsect uniquely being blast element in this quest and proccing blast on the drill. Although with a regular thunder Kinsect, hitting 5 hits for 121 damage each on Savage Jho's chest is also satisfying.

Well the build he used is after alatreon and fatalis is harder so good luck. I would recommend using frostfang weapons, they do the job fine without the need of kulve or safi gear

Mhhh never seen it as an ig main, the insect has to be on your arm when you use descending thrust to do the piercing attack

cuz your kinsect out of stamina

just pull back the kinsect.. and jump, then use RT/R2 for Dive, then after it finished the combo by marking at the end, the Kinsect will do this DriII

@@granthefato340 yes, for me personaIIy. If the user can handIe the kinsect aiming for each buff, then sure.. but if they cant, go with speed kinsect for easier aim.
