Great Tutorial! Just one note as an SnS main: You can back hop after any move in a combo, including Spinning Reaper, so something i have found really nice it to loop Perfect Rush by ending it with the spinning reaper and then back hopping and starting Perfect Rush. In addition if the opening isn’t large you can do the shield bash/drill slash combo, end with spinning reaper, and then back hop into advancing slash/sliding slash, and then repeat. Not sure it this is the absolute most damaging combo but it’s been what I’m using (the inputs are Forward + A, A, A, X+A, Back + A but don’t hold back or A, and then repeat). I find this combo works best with Sliding slash and Drill Slash, however it works well will any configuration of skills

It's worth mentioning that from most SnS attacks that launch you up into the air you can use your Falling Shadow. It's not exactly useful for damage, but its pretty useful if you're up in the air and the monster is about to do something that'd swat you outta the sky and you need to get out of the way.
@CraigPrime3 жыл бұрын

A few things I'd like to add: Falling Shadow has some few extra properties that were not mentioned: you can use the move midair to cancel other moves you were currently doing, for example you can use Falling Shadow, do the jumping slashes and use another Falling Shadow instead of committing to the falling bash/slash, which can be useful if you notice the monster's starting to attack you or if it's moving to reposition. You can also cancel the jump you do during the perfect rush with the Falling Shadow.

Protip: While S&S is a weapon that has no skills unique to it, it does benefit greatly from Wirebug Whisperer 3. The reduced cooldown on it's silkbinds is a welcome improvement, as Metsu Shoryugeki's damage output helps (Metsu is considered more useful than Windmill due to being able to target a monster's individual parts or head more easily, making tripping or KOing more consistent).

One thing I've noticed is that the sns also has an...okayish ranged damage option, though technically everyone has it. Since we have unlimited kunai it means you can spam them in moments where it's not safe to approach. Throw in the dango skill that increases kunai damage and you're replacing what would be 0 dps downtime into a small trickle of damage. It also means you can bide your time a bit easier when fighting annoying monsters that keep bouncing attacks.
